Sidenote: I got my first booster dose October 25
2021, so since it has been over 5 months since
that dose, I'm going down to the pharmacy where
I got that first booster dose & will try to get that
FDA approved dose right now.

Follow-up:

My pharmacy informed me that at some time
in the past, the second covid booster shot was
approved for immunocompromised individuals.
Not sure when that was, but here's an article on
that written February 14 2022:
https://www.verywellhealth.com/fourth-covid-shot-5218686

However, my pharmacy said they had not re-
ceived notification from the FDA / CDC regard-
ing a second covid booster shot for individuals
age 50 and older, so I suppose I'll have to sche-
dule a weekly phone call to my pharmacy to find
out when I can get a second booster.

I also need to check for news articles about the
CDC approval process for that.

Appears I was premature as the following article
says the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has not
approved the second booster so it looks like we'll
have to wait (non-immunocompromised individuals
age 50 & older) 'til the CDC approves it (presuming
they do). I'm not well-informed about all this, & find ...

... it needlessly confusing & misleading, but hey, as
readers of this newsgroup are well aware, I'm prone
to be an admirer for clarity & when an article says
FDA-approved & says nothing about that approval
also requiring CDC approval, well there you go, there
it is. Such is life. In any case, as I often think about, ...

... these days, the fact we're not being bombed &
having our power & water & food & insulin & other
medical supplies bombed to smithereens as is hap-
pening to folks in Ukraine (I've seen estimates that
130,000 or so Ukrainians have Islit, near-total to
total loss of endogenous insulin), we have far too ...

... much to be thankful for to worry / complain too
much about the 2-step FDA / CDC approvals that
are required for a 2nd Covid booster shot to be
implemented for those 50 years of age & older.

The article is clear but for some reason, my pharm-
acy doesn't recognize that and I have to wait for what-
ever 'official' notice comes from the FDA (and also,
the CDC) to pharmacies before I can get my second
booster.

Right now was too early (see above) so I'll have to
await some kind of 'official' notice from the FDA &
CDC to pharmacies before I can get my 2nd Covid
booster shot.

Everything I wrote about awaiting CDC approval,
well, per the following article, the CDC has already
approved the 2nd booster for those age 50 & older,
so I'll call my pharmacy daily to check & see when
they have whatever they need to have to give me
my 2nd booster shot:

Turns out my pharmacy received an email at 6:05 PM
yesterday allowing them to give a 2nd booster shot to
those 50 years of age & older who got their 1st booster
shot more than 4 months ago.

So, as it turns out, I was just a tad early in trying to get
that 2nd booster yesterday, & today I'm going to that
pharmacy & getting that 2nd booster shot.

Yeah !
