This morning, my BMI is 27.1 .

My last 2 days calorie intake:

Jan 3 920
Jan 4 550

Dec 6, before starting the exercise rou-
tine, my BMI was 29.0, and a few days of
exercise got it down but it started drift-
ing back up, so I initiated a reduced cal-
orie diet on Dec 13.

During the exercise period since Dec 6,
I've exercised 30 minutes/day from Dec 6
to Dec 19, upped that to 45 minutes/day
in -1- 45 minute session from Dec 20 to
Dec 29, and upped that to 60 minutes/day ...

... in -2- 30 minute segments from Dec 30
to yesterday, planning to continue that
as it somehow unlocked my 'frozen' BMI
(which did not change despite my diet/
exercise since Dec 13), locked in at ...

... 27.9 'til I upped my daily exercise
to 60 minutes/day in -2- 30 minute seg-
ments on Dec 30, and despite increased
calories for 4 days, my BMI went down
to 27.6 .

The last 2 days, reduced calories does
appear to have escalated the weight loss
as my current BMI is 27.1, very close to
the ideal weight for long life which is
~27 .

Yesterday, with only 40 carbs, my insulin
dosage was only 14 units, with protein of
52 & fat of 23.

If anyone is wondering if I'll continue
the diet/exercise program to try to be
slim, my inclination right now is to do
so, as I've wanted to be slim my whole
life and that's not something I want to
give up right now, even though the life ...

... expectancy decreases at BMI 18.5 to
24.9 . Of course, this culture called
the ideal weight range for long life
"overweight" and cast dispersions on
ideal weight for my entire life (still
does), so perhaps all of that is what ...

... caused me to want to be slim (the
category formally promoted as 'normal',
BMI 18.5 to 24.9). I've found some data
from a previous post on March 13, 2015,
"Best Weight? Attractiveness, Longevity,
and Risk of Cellosis" that I'll be ...

... reposting in the next few days that
addresses those issues in detail, along
with adding my recent "New Clarifying
Names for BMI Weight Categories" to
that updated/revised re-post:

Low carb diets have very low insulin requirements. Note that
high protein diets, to lower insulin requirements, may cause
kidney damage. In general, protein uses 1/6th the insuln that
carbohydrates require. Note that basal insulin is about 50%
of total daily insulin. So for a normal, 70kg person producing
40U endogenous insulin per day, half is basal (20U) and the
other half is prandial. For a high protein (kidney damaging)
diet, this would drop to 20U + 20U/6 = 23U/day.

This is the quoted 24U/day from Danny Fake. But he is hurting
his kidneys in the process.

Be very careful with high protein diets.

Follow-up:

A recap of my diet & insulin dosages day
by day since my diet started (actually
started Dec 11):

Here's my day-by-day calories, fat,
carbs, protein, insulin dosages,
glucose level averages from Dec 11
to Jan 4:

Note - since my Freestyle Libre
CGM only does averages in 7 day
increments and 6 hour increments,
here's what it's showing for the
following time periods as of today,
December 6 to January 5:

Last 7 days - average 118 mg/dl
12 am to 6 am 118 mg/dl
6 am to 12 pm 113 mg/dl
12 pm to 6 pm 135 mg/dl
6 pm to 12 am 107 mg/dl

Last 14 days - average 116 mg/dl
12 am to 6 am 108 mg/dl
6 am to 12 pm 117 mg/dl
12 pm to 6 pm 120 mg/dl
6 pm to 12 am 120 mg/dl

Last 30 days - average 119 mg/dl
12 am to 6 am 108 mg/dl
6 am to 12 pm 125 mg/dl
12 pm to 6 pm 123 mg/dl
6 pm to 12 am 117 mg/dl

Note - my last HbA1c test, my glucose
level average was 10 mg/dl lower
than my Freestyle Libre glucose
level average, an HbA1c of 5.4 .

Note 2 - My BMI before starting my exer-
cise was 29.0, went down to
27.9 after a few days of exer-
cise but started drifting back
up so I started a diet on Dec.
11, got the BMI back down to ...

... 27.9, but it stopped going
down (i.e., appeared to 'freeze')
and so I upped my exercise to
45 minutes/day on Dec 20. No
weight loss ensued, so I upped
my exercise to -2- 30 minute ...

... sessions (total 60 minutes)
on Dec 30, and 4 days later it
had gone down to 27.6 despite
more calories. Last 2 days, re-
duced calories led to 27.1 BMI
this morning.
