Insulinitis (Islit, near-total to total loss of
endogenous insulin), how many Americans
have Islit?
https://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+Americans+have+type+1+diabetes%3F&oq=how+many+Americans+have+type+1+diabetes

Some 1.6 million Americans are living with
T1D, including about 200,000 youth (less
than 20 years old) and 1.4 million adults (20
years old and older). 64,000 people are diag-
nosed each year in the U.S.

Current U.S. population as of 4:30 PM central
time on June 23 2022:
332,810,800

So, statistically, 1 in 208 people have Islit, and
1 in 5,200 Americans are diagnosed with Islit
each year.

Recently, in another newsgroup, I did a detailed
analysis of "What are the odds that Selena Gomez
& her former boyfriend Justin Bieber would both
be diagnosed with rare disorders?"

Like Selena Gomez's bipolar disorder, over 99%
*don't have bipolar disorder* and over 99% *don't
have Islit*, but I was struck by the rarity of the 2
other conditions that Selena & her former long-
time boyfriend have been diagnosed with, as de-
tailed below.

Life, a mysterious adventure, fame (which in
most cases is associated with wealth & gen-
erally thought of as a positive thing, although
often it doesn't turn out happily), 2 famous
superstars who dated on and off for close to
9 years, both diagnosed with rare disorders.

Fame, a rare thing. Rare disorders, infrequent
and unwelcome. The following, shocking, the
combination of on-off finding love with ano-
ther famous person & being stricken with 2
dissimilar rare disorders & 1 disorder not as
rare but over 99% don't have it.

Key word in that question, -both-, combining
the odds that Justin would be diagnosed with
Ramsey Hunt Syndrome (1 in 20,000) times
the odds that Selena Gomez would be diag-
nosed with Lupus (1 in 1,600), also multiply-
ing the odds that Selena would be diagnosed
with bipolar disorder (1 in 120):

1 in *** 3 billion 840 million ***.

As the saying goes, life's a bitch and then you
die. I know, that's a simplistic glass half empty
statement, and in actuality, life's an up-and-
down adventure with an ongoing struggle ver-
sus the inescapable downsides, some having
more & worse struggles than others.

Everyone in Ukraine, for example, right now,
struggling to try to stay alive, quality of life
drastically diminished due to the idiocy /
madness of a single tyrannical dictator,
Vladimir Putin.

Justin Bieber, recently diagnosed with Ram-
sey Hunt Syndrome, a rare disorder that an
estimated 1 in 20,000 people have.

Selena Gomez, diagnosed with Lupus in
2012 or 2013, got a life-saving kidney trans-
plant from a friend in 2017. Lupus is a rare
disorder that an estimated 1 in 1,600 people
have. Selena has also been diagnosed with ...

mated 1 in 120 people have.

INSULINITIS (ISLIT)

New SUPERIOR clarifying name for near-
total to total loss of endogenous insulin
https://prohuman.net/pix2/new_superior_clarifying_name_is_INSULINITIS.jpg

The overwhelming majority of Islit caused by
autoimmune attacks on pancreatic beta cells
(Insulitis Islit) but there are

o 15 specific types of rapid onset Islit, a
rare condition (only present in < one-half
of 1% of Americans & in a much lower rate
in most of the world), when present is typ-
ically diagnosed at age under 30
(50% at age < 18, 20% at age 19 to 29)

o 1 slow onset specific type, Latent Autoim-
mune Islit, frequency unknown but per a
recent report, misdiagnosed as Cellosis
(new clarifying name for type 2 diabetes)
almost 40% of the time due to its slow
onset and its occurrence typically at age
over 30

Old outdated anachronistic name for Islit is
type 1 diabetes, confusing in that diabetes
without clarifier is often used to describe
this condition which is 1 of the 7 Disparate
High Glucose Conditions (DHGCs).

That makes figuring out which DHGC is actu-
ally being referred to (and it can be any one,
or some, or all of them when the diabetes
or diabetic word is used without clarifier)
confusing / difficult:

https://prohuman.net/pix2/diabetesdiabeticendingthemisunderstanding.jpg

It's estimated that 5% to 11% of Islit individuals
will die from severe hypoglycemia, the highest
risk of that being while sleeping (i.e., dead-in-
bed syndrome).
