Hi all. If any of you out there (other than Willy, and he knows
why; & I thank Willy once again), has any source info for the
availability of files to make DecTalk sing, I'd really like to
receive such data. I'm trying to enhance the collection as much as
possible. Thanks as always.

I'd like to know if you had any, and if so, would it be possible to
get them from you?

Tim

At the last NFB convention Clay Hutchinson (he of the Verbal
Operating System) attended (I believe that was Chicago, 1988), he
had a DECtalk singing "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" in the
key of C sharp. Dunno whether you've got that one or if, given
his current attitude toward customer support, he'd provide you
with the song source but it'd be worth a try!

I think computer singing will separate the men from the boys
or the grownups from the children as far as computer speech
is concerned. I am not blind but also hope to hear my computer
translate usenet articles from the world's languages and then
speak or teach me to read.

I have read and studied for more than ten years and DECtalk is
the only one where people talk about singing. I have a Sound
Blaster which does text to speech but I can not easily control
the speed. Its price, because of world wide mass production
is much less, but the music people are not keenly interested
in speech as yet.
