Yeah I remember the first time they told me I was going to self
cath. I told them my mommy told me never to stick anything in
there.

I have been self cathing for 12 years now. It is all I use. I generaly
go about 3 to four hours between. 95% of the time I have no troubles.
Once in a while my bladder gets "mean and nasty" and kicks off at
nothing.
I am going on medicare soon (private insurance will be primary but
requires me to use medicare as soon as I qualify) and I was told that
they would only pay for one catheter per day. Since I average 8 per day
this got my curriosity going. Any one have any input.

Being able to self cath is medical progress. In 1960 only a Doctor
was allowed to perform a cath procedure.
