For the get a lifers and whyers: Truth and justice should be enough, but
I will post a very detailed
response in the future.
If you want faxes of the picture proof of my stories let me know.
More true rumors to follow, as Herr Schwarzenegger would say “I’ll be
back”.

I have cut the rest of this eternally long article. My question is "who
cares"? I guess there are people who are only interested in the steamy
stuff, but I'm not one of them. If Arnold has a lifestyle different from
yours or mine, so what? Why do we continually have to "dig for the
dirt?" Maybe I am naive, but all that stuff is irrelevant to his
performance as a movie star or a bodybuilder. That is where the interest
should lie, not in his sexual orientation. Sorry for the soap box, but
it was a very long, very personal post. Those "sensational" things bore
the hell out of me. Bobbie

Hear, hear. The post didn't have anything to do with fitness; it belongs
on one of the alt.celebrity or alt.whatever newsgroups, with maybe a
one-line posting here saying, "Interested in the truth about Arnold?
Check of the thread yadda yadda on newsgroup alt.blah.blah.blah" in case
anyone's interested enough to go look.

Lacy,
What's up with this attack? Did Arnold wrong you in some way? No one is
claiming that he is an angel. These post are getting ridiculous and, unless
they can all be proven, slanderous.I personally couldn't care one way or the
other about Arnold, and even less about Weider. If you hate Arnold, don't
watch his movies!

Disclaimer: BLAH BLAH BLAH..........
Look Lacy.... this is a fitness forum. Contrary to your beliefs this does
not entail what Arnold does in his spare time (whether or not it's true),
nor how powerful the Kennedy's are, etc.
If you have a fitness contribution please feel free to post away but
when you waste the resources of 1000's of sites across the world for
something that isn't appropriate for this newsgroup you're doing all
of us misc.fitness readers a huge disfavour.
If you want to continue these Hard Copy accusations move it to alt.conspiracy.
At least there you'll be welcomed.... here you are not.
Garry
PS: Invest in a good lawyer while you're at it... the Enquirer has been
sued for less degrees of slander.
What is your major malfunction, LacyR? You are discussing Arnold's
PRIVATE LIFE. That has nothing to do with fitness. You have not
mentioned anything he did in a professional capacity while chairman
of the President's Council, nor have you even mentioned in passing
anything related to bodybuilding. This forum is NOT present for
a discussion on the private lives of every single public figure who
is (or once was) an athelete. That's not fitness, it's gossip.
Maybe you could try to start a misc.atheletes.private-lives.
This forum is unmoderated, so the participants decide what is
appropriate. You have received a huge number of responses from
long-time participants here, and all agree that your discussion does
not belong here. Don't get all defensive; we're not passing
judgement on the validity of your writings, we're only saying they
should be posted elsewhere. Now run along.
JB
Arnold may be loosely related to fitness (Not a lot IMHO) if you are
referring to his work outs, his biceps or his diet.
But sexual orientation? Like that has ANYTHING to do with fitness....
Get over Arnold and move on with your life.... and most of all take the
hints of the many people who have already responded to you. Move this
trash else where.

Hey, pinhead! Didn't you claim (a dozen or so postings back) that Arnold had nothing to do with fitness? Which side of your modem you gonna' talk out of?

Actually, I think he is doing a service, because folks should
realize what goes on behind the scenes in bodybuilding. Whether
his specific alegations about Arnold are all true I can't say
(but some are---and he didn't even mention Arnold had plastic
surgery to remove his gyno :-), but they are typical of things
that are true of a variety of top bodybuilders (gay prostituition,
drug use and dealing, criminal activity, behind the scenes deals
and politics, contest fixing, and so on, all really does go on
in the high levels of bodybuilding.)

You are entitled to back up your claims with facts!
Please include context in your replies.
Can we start a newsgroup for this? Like misc.fitness.gossip?

Hey! If they're "typical," that implies that it's probable they're true of
everyone in the strength sports. Even (gasp!) Barry Merriman! Especially
since you seem to know so much about it! (Remember those employment honesty
tests? If you know about dishonesty, it's because you are..!)
Why center this on Arnold? He used to be part of the problem, you're saying,
but he left competition long ago. Let's go after everybody else, too.
That'll serve people even better. Let's name names! The more the better,
rumors OK too, spread 'em as wide as possible, the wildest ones you hear
especially!
I think we can fill in the blanks on your "Periodization Routine" now!
I *love* the sound of flesh burning - witch hunt!!
(Actually, I think it's probably coming, what with the McNeil murder et.
al.)

Well, in my case, its not...but I'm not a top bodybuilder either :-).
My real point is that the sort of things Lacy accuses Arnold
of are the sort of things that go on in the bodybuilding world, so it
wouldn't be that unusual if they were true. Also, I wouldn;t get that worked
up about it. Simply understand that thats the way things are, rather than
the image the muscle mags would like you to perceive.

I've been around the block in Venice a few times. There are people like
that, among those who try and don't make it even more than those who
succeed. That there are those involved in male prostitution doesn't mean
that most do it by any means. You don't have to be a bodybuilder to do that,
and the vast majority of hustlers aren't bodybuilders.
Schwarzenegger always had a savvy that enabled him to achieve success in
more prosaic and societally acceptable ways.
It would be pretty hard in today's society not to run into open homosexuals,
especially in LA and the entertainment business. If you're a bodybuilder,
some are going to be attracted and see if it can be made reciprocal. I lived
in Venice in the early seventies and I didn't see anything that leads me to
believe what this Lacy character says is particularly accurate as applied to
the specific individuals he's named. In any gym there's going to be a wide
range of types, from people who can politely be called criminals all the way
to individuals with a great deal of integrity.
And nobody's so perfect that you couldn't say something bad about them, you
and me included. More to the point, there's nothing that couldn't be said
about someone if the person saying it is unethical enough. This Lacy
character is somewhat unhinged, as is apparent from the tenor of what he
writes, even if you're unfamiliar with the facts, which in many cases he
plays fast and loose with. Extrapolating falsehoods from half truths is
devilish work.
> Also, I wouldn;t get that worked up about it. Simply understand that thats
> the way things are, rather than the image the muscle mags would like you
> to perceive.
The muscle mags don't present an entirely appealing image. The sleaziness of
many, though by no means all in the field, is readily apparent. But, that's
entertainment!
Corruption is true of every area of human endeavor, from sports to business
to politics. Lacy claims his impetus for his "expose" is Schwarzenegger's
supposed entry into politics. Now that's irony. The field of politics makes
bodybuilding's pecadillos look like a bunch of schoolchild tantrums, and
Schwarzenegger would look a comparative angel should he desire to enter that
milieu.
I think Lacy's supposed "public duty" is the last refuge of a scoundrel with
very personal interests.
I have happened to witness the very great difficulty that false accusations
have caused for a personal friend who owns a gym business, even at his
advanced age. Someone who was caught in the act of theft decided to get
revenge by destroying his business by spreading false accusations which
eventually did cause both personal and physical suffering, and financial
misfortune, because they were cleverly and maliciously done.
You know, it's not for nothing that one of the Ten Commandments is "You
shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
Somehow, Lacy's diatribe seems motivated by a whole lot of that sort of
thing: jealousy of what another has, hatred, revenge, etc. He ought to
remember that more people than those he "accuses" could be hurt by what he
says, and that what he is doing harms his own character, irrevocably.
