Does anybody know about the effectiveness of EAS PhosphaGain? I've
heard that it is almost as effective as Deca-Durabolin. Has anybody
ever heard anything like this?
Thanks

Phosphagain is a supplement powder containing a small amount of protein(20g)
,carbohydrate(19gm), creatine, glutamine,taurine,selenium,sodium RNA and
some other products(Basically it's a version of Met-Rx w/these extra
ingredients). As far as results, the U. Memphis study did show impressive
results of 2.2 kg LBW gain in four weeks with a minimal amount of fat loss.
However, the comparsions to steriods are blown out of proportion. The
amount of steriods in the study cited by Phillips are those that would
normally be prescribed by a doctor; MUCH less than most people actually use.
Remember also, this was only ONE study. More research would need to be done
with this combination of nutrients to correlate with or contradict the
results of our study. I personally have tried the product and was impressed
with the results.

I am aware that it is not a drug. But I have heard claims of drug like
gains.

Yes, and I think it's a load of horse shit.
Deca may be one of the mildest of the drugs, but no simple food supplement
is going to work nearly as well it does. No references given.

My good friend Will [ MMI writer ] proclaims this stuff (creatine monohydrate,
and now Phosphagain) as being the greatest natural supplement since water.
[ exaggeration added by moi ]

I don't know. While Will may know a whole heck of alot, I think he's being
misguided here [ for reasons that I won't get into ].

Time to drop a little "secret": I tried the creatine monohydrate.

Result: nada.

I loaded on 36 gms/day for 6 or 7 days, and then used 12-15 gms /day until
the bottle ran out. I even went in to this little "experiment" w/ a positive
attitude 'cause I figured: "Hey, if it's all placebo effect - well, I'll take
it!"

No noticeable strength gains. No noticeable weight gains. Nothing.

[ Well, it does kinda make you feel "weird". Kind of an unpleasant buzz.
And it made me puke the first morning when I took it on an empty stomach
before breakfast. ]

So, basically, I'm not expecting anything from the PhosphaGain - since
PhosphaGain is just Phosphagen (creatine monohydrate) and some other "stuff"
(some protein, etc).

Still. I've heard all sorts of anecdotal stories about the C.M.
Don't know why it didn't "work" for me. I seem to always end up being one
of those "1 out of 8 people" for whom the stuff doesn't work...

Yes, it is. The "F" in FDA stands for food. That's why you won't
see a claim that this stuff builds muscle written on the label.
The FDA would slam 'em.

The only thing truly 'gained' from Phosphagain (IMHO) is what Bill
Phillips/EAS gains when you buy their replacement for MET-Rx (they GAIN
your $$$$). Look, CM doesn't absorb well when taken with a heavy protein
meal. Phosphagain has protein in it.....Hmmmnnnnn. Phillips
contradicting himself to liberate your $$$$ from your wallet? As far as
the MASS MAILINGS that Phillips, Almada, Kandis, et al send out comparing
the effects of Phosphagain to Deca and Test (the neat-o graph), just look
at the foot note!!! The data was taken from 2 or 3 DIFFERENT studies and
put into ONE graph (ahhhhh....can't so that). YOU have *NO* way of
knowing the testing parameters regarding the three groups and unless they
were the same (or even remotely close) THE GRAPH IS BULL-DOO DOO!!! The
day I get better results from Phophagain than from Deca (@400mg qw) or
test. cyp. (@ a whopping 1,000mg qw), I will personally call up Bill
Phillips and tell him he is god on earth. I will set up a shrine in his
honor and start a new religion called Phillipsianty (those who blindly
believe in the gospel as said from MM2000 and the prophets, Luoma, Almada,
etc.). Don't hold your breath waiting for it though :)

What I ABSOLUTELY _LOVE_ are the envelopes with the return address as some
unknown individual in florida or Massachusettes, with the postal mark
showing 'Golden Colorado' and the _SAME ISSUE OF STAMP_ on every
envelope...

I know know if I get the Eagle looking to its right stamp and Golden
Colorado on the Postal Service ink-mark, even if the return address is 1600
Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC, it'll be from Bill Phillips

Research has shown that creatine is absorbed just fine in protein. As for the
graphs, that's Phillips, not us. Our study was handled very well and did
show a significant LBW increase with Phosphagain use.(2.2kilos) Whether>or
not the results can be replicated remains to be seen......

In Bill Phillips' defense, the day he made that graph up he forgot to
take his thioridazine. His psychiatrist told him ever since that it's
important to take his medicine *every day* whether he thinks he needs
to or not.

Lates!
