>I think I remember that ad. "Biggest Bodybuilder in the World" or

You are correct that is the one.
>Lacy, I have nothing against what you're posting. I only wonder what
>your goal is. Sure, bodybuilding has a dark side. In that respect
>it just reflects human nature. Do you expect that to change? Do you
>think there are areas of society that *don't* have a dark side?
A civilized society can not run on lie. The people have a right to know
the truth. Society must make it dicisions based on reality not the
fantasy churned out by the public relations firms of the rich and
powerful.
>Ok, you've been burned, and burned badly. People who are into power
>have a tendency to do that to you if you endanger that power.
I am not sure what you are talking about. I have had a wonderful life and
do not feel burned at all. I do resent the fact that the Weiders were
able to ram through that stupid steriod law with Orrin Hatch's aid, and my
friend Dr. Jekot is going to prison for five years. It was Viet Nam all
over again in the sense that they couldn't bust coke dealer so they made
roids illegal and marched through the gyms racking up a body count so the
DEA could justify its existence.

I have no idea of Bob's HIV status. I doubt that he is positive unless he
is into more things than when I made it with him. You have to remember
that a great many of us gays are not into anal activity. That is why I
have survived to almost 49.
>Everybody in bodybuilding seems fond of the Nietzche quote: "That
>which does not kill you makes you stronger". I prefer another one
>of his: "Battle not with dragons lest you become a dragon".
I have never said that I was not a dragon and certianly not guiltless in
all this stuff. If I had not been apart of it, I would not know about it.
I think society is ready to deal with the truth about these matters. I
know a lot of people want to stick their heads in the ground and protend
that the reality of the media is the way it is in the real world, but it's
not. If we do not deal with these matter people like arnold are going to
gain more public office and iron grip of the state will get stronger.
Over 200 bombs were set off last year and few were mentioned. The OKC bomb
is now an excuse for them to clamp down and limit civil rights. No one
has to worry about the comparisons between our freedoms and the soviets
anymore.
We study history so that we do not continuely repeat the mistakes of the
past. But what happens when history is distorted to fit what people wish
it were instead of what it really is.
