That's 2 workouts in a row where work-related duties have caused me stress
before them. I get a call at 7:00 AM (on my day off on Saturday) from my
boss because I didn't respond to a pager message that was sent overnight.
Never mind that I don't want my pager to wake up my wife and that I don't
get any extra pay to be on standby/pager duty. This dotcom crash has made
employers more brash into making slaves out of their employees.

Jan 17 workout:

(both sets taken to failure)

Bent-Over Rows 225 lbs 9 reps (same as last time). I tried to do 2 extra
repetitions after failure, but I could not complete the reps, so I lifted as
I would the last failed rep--by trying to keep lifting the bar. I am
experimenting with extra reps after failure to increase the intensity on the
BR and BP to break through my plateaus.

Deadlift 305 lbs 6 reps. Quite a drop in the number of repetitions compared
to the previous workout, but I was lifting an extra 5 lbs. Sometimes even a
little amount of extra weight is the straw that breaks the camel's back, and
it's not uncommon for me to do very low reps of the DL after I increase the
weight.

A bit of advice. People here are not going to want to read a lot more
about your pretty idiotic lifting program. Going to failure on every
set of every exercise, every week, is not a good plan. A program
consisting of two sets every four days is not a well-rounded program.

Take your DL, for example- you'd be much better off cycling the weight
you use, having a back-off week once in every four (for example), and
not going to failure. You would get stronger much more quickly like
that. Take a look at the stuff at www.stumptuous.com. It's just
frustrating listening to someone reporting on their daft program when
they could easily make it much better.

Hey, I just saw that movie! It was good. I really, really liked "Jay
and Silent Bob Strike Back" (maybe even more than Dogma) and am glad I
saw Clerks before renting it. I've seen Chasing Amy so now I'm just
missing Mallrats. Is it worth finding and renting?

That makes no sense. This is all in your head. If you put 300
lbs on the bar, and someone added 5 lbs as you went to get a drink
of water, you'd never know the weight was different.

He'd be better off microloading .25lbs per week. 5lbs is too big a jump for
deadlifts.

I certainly want to read about his program. At this point I don't have enough
info to lable it "idiotic" "brilliant" or anything else...

If it works for him, why is not a good program?

I don't think so. I recently ran across "Vulgar". Kevin didn't write
it though he does have a role, along with many others in the ViewAskew
crew. It's certainly not your typical clown movie. :-)
