And it's also true that there's a lot of homosexual hustling going on. It's
been going on since the inception of bodybuilding in the early part of the
century. It appears that there's a faction of homosexuals who find
bodybuilders irresistible and are willing to pay them considerable sums of
money for sexual favors. I know a number of bodybuilders who have done this,
too, but for obvious reasons I'm not going to reveal their names.
Yes, bodybuilding is not quite the pristine pursuit as portrayed in some of
the magazines.

It's funny, but I was expecting a kind of "grace" from him, and
instead he sounded like a fuss-bucket ol' grandpa type of character.
No elder statesman of the sport, him! Despite all the accolades for
being the most "philosophical" of bodybuilders....
I bought his first book. It was only about 70 pages, and half of that was
pictures. Mike Mentzer was trying to be bigger than he was. At least he
tried. I used to read his column in Iron Man magazine (or Muscular
Development?) and Mentzer seemed to be full of anger and hate. In many ways
Mentzer sounded like Rob Shue. That is one reason that I believe that
steroids cause brain damage.
PLONK. Come up with some new material troll.

When are you going to post some new photos? Let's see how steroids have been
helping you since 1989.
LOL! Yeah, he sounds on the verge of being a grouchy ol' grandpa in
the DVDs I have. I thought it would be him in his prime, and instead
he's a wrinkled fat-ass who chain-smokes (a "behind the scenes"
featurette on the disc has his producer bugging him to stop smoking
and get back in front of the camera!!) and sounds grumpy. I guess I'm
not surprised his columns read like that...actually, that seems to be
the case with quite a few of these bodybuilder-cum-columnists....

Another funny think about poor Mike...his speech seemed kind of
slurred, and he seemed like he was grasping for words, concepts...and
he was repetitive, and kept talking about "logic" and logical analyses
when expounding on HIT principles, but he is more inductive than
deductive....
Sounds like Rob Shue. Maybe they are related? Maybe it is just Steroid Brain
Damage Syndrome?
Maybe it's 'roiding while gay...all those chemicals "swishing" around
up there must make for intellectual and emotional difficulties akin to
a period.
Was Mike gay? I seem to recall him talking about some chick in that
DVD of mine, though.
Mike and his brother never got married, just like Rob Shoe. It seems like a
lot of bodybuilders never get married. Either they are flamers or else they
are sterile from steroids and no woman wants a guy shooting blanks. The
average bodybuilder doesn't have much to offer once the glory years are
gone. What are they doing? Unloading trucks, working at Wal-Mart. A lot of
great photos from the old days, but very little money.
Sounds like these forty year-old former hot chicks from the '80s one
sees working sales at small local gyms.

Well, Shu'bert is making drums out in the desert for Burning Man, I
guess. Mike and Ray seemed to have made a good enough living doing
personal training.
I wonder if the reason Rob Shue won't post any photos is because he is in a
wheelchair? He has had many physical ailments, and there is a big chance he
might not be in very good shape.
Even though I have posted a lot of remarks about him, I feel bad now. I hope
he is doing OK, though I realize that he is a pretty mean dude and does not
like anyone.
I suspect not. Bodybuilders are really exhibitionists, and he'd let
his photos do the screaming if he was still in shape.

I actually also feel a little bad for Shu'bert and company...we get
people like this on the NYC subways all the time, raving loonies
screaming about Jesus, black power, and so forth...you're disturbed by
such displays of mental illness, but pretty soon you also start
feeling sorry for them. There's just something very wrong with these
people, and it makes me remember that exercise is not only good for
the body but good for the mind as well.
I think the MFW hallway monitors are just your average everyday chumps
who think they've found a little niche of their own here...you see
this in the bike clubs, the political parties, the church social
committees, the volunteer organizations, the comic book
conventions...little Napoleons who have found their destinies in a
little fish bowl....
