Lynn,
RS:Where do you get the idea that I attack women?
PP: very simple..you called her an ignorant bitch, Robert, b4 even
giving yourself an opportunity to get to know her.
RS:I suggest that you do a
Google search. I think you will find that I am more than likely THE
least
misogynistic man you have ever met.
PP: Perhaps... However may possibly be a distorted perception of
'yourself' OR Your choice of " words" leads others to believe that This
is the case...
RS: I also used to date and train IFBB pro
Jackie Paisley, who no offense, was a far better competitive
bodybuilder
than you are.
PP: I take no offense..On the Contrary...as a BB , I always compared
myself to myself, my goals of creating ths physique was not intended to
try to be one up over anyone else but myself... I Loved having a
contest Goal, as it helped me deal with other negative aspects of my
life, keep me in Balance and remaining Focused. When I hit the
National Level ( which I DID back in 1985 but had a disabling injury
right before the Nationals of 86) then I became a MOM and did not start
competing again until 94 ... after requalifying National and competing
at that level, I was turned OFF by the intense use of steroids that had
increased over those years that I was focusing on parenting, and the
politics, Not to Mention all the 'ASS' Kissing.. I am too proud of a
woman to deal with that..I Kiss No Ones Ass..( although Pete if Yu want
to Kiss mine, that Could be an option?! Hahaha) . I have nothing to "
prove " to anyone...since I retired from " Competition" I have jumped
a whole weight class and remain between 7 and 10 % Body Fat YEAR
Round.. so I guess you would say if you were to see me at my best Now ,
and not how I looked on stage back in the 90's yu would say I have
improved upon my structure based even on the Competitive criteria so
you cannot compare me back in my competition days to Jackie when she
was at her peak... as I am more at my Peak Now for Different reasons
and all practical purposes,...there is no comparison period...my
lifestyle, my giving Birth to two beautiful children and being a mom...
and my having Other goals that are not within the 'competitive nature'
that Jackie " had" I refused to mold my physique to please a judge and
go against my standards...
I met Jackie 6 or 7 years ago at Fitness Experience in Scottsdale when
she first started training there... she was very reserved to talk with
me at first but after I made the effort, she reciprocated... We Know,
and have worked with mutual friends and people... she is a very nice
gal... but truth be known...I Like being Me.
RS: I also worked with Dan Duchaine...
PP: Nothing I would want to Brag about IF I were You... I would just
keep that hush hush...oooops..Too Late!
RS: with probably 25 top pro
women BBers back in the late 80s,
PP: Thats Great... Me Too!! Something Else we have in common besides
Drummin and being " Old Timers" at the sport! :-)) ... I PT from 1984
thru 1999. Men and women, Young and Old...Competitive and
Noncompetitive...Loved it and Miss it.
RS: so I think you should get your facts
about me "attacking women," I attack spammers in this newsgroup no
matter
what sex they are. If Monica had been a regular poster in MFW, then her
putting the ad in here would have been cool, but when you add nothing
to
this newsgroup and just SPAM it, you deserve to be called out. I have
been
doing it for years! :-)
PP: Understood but yu never gave her a chance..perhaps you should give
yourself a little time before blowing your stack a bit to soon?? Just
common Courtesy Robert...treat others the way YOU would lke to be
treated and the world would be a better place..Unless of course you are
the type who enjoy to be abused and humiliated...then I would suggest
you hire Theresa Bostick to have her way with you and then seek
Professional help! :-O
RS: I am sorry to hear that you had such as asshole of
a boyfriend. May I ask why you stayed with him as long as you did? I
have
never so much as raised my hand to a woman in my life, hell, I have
never
even spanked one of my dogs when they misbehave. PLEASE do not lump me
in
with the typical bodybuilder mentality.
PP: My asshole BF was simply a very ill man.. I had to forgive him
within my heart and soul, as he just did not have the capabilities of
controlling himself, even though he hated that part of himself that he
could Not cntrol.. I forgave him in order to " heal" so it is all in
the past... I learned much because of it and know the similarities and
" warning" signs of an abusive/controlling Man OR Woman , BB or NOT...
I am not stereotyping you Robert... you do not have to strike a person
" Physically" to be abusive...emotional abuse is much worse than
physical , Scars on the surface heal... a heart takes much much
longer... as far as why I stayed with him..I wish to not get into
details and have put that part of my life behind me. Thanks.
RS:I have been a professional Jazz
drummer for over 25 years and I always approached BBing as more of an
art
form. I had a Bob Paris/Frank Zane type of Physique when I competed, so
I
was never into that mindless "let's get hooooge mentality." Here are a
few
old photos to show you: http://www.rustyiron.net/rschuh.htm. Here is a
Sergio post also. My wrists and knees were actually smaller than
Jackie's,
so I always looked larger than I actually was.
PP: Congratulations on your Drumming... I Do want to pick it back u
again but only for fun and as a hobby..it's a Great release and I so
miss it... I always looked at BB as an art form as well, and believed
in maintaining my femininity , which is why I refuse to compete with "
todays" standards ..I culd easily have been one of the biggest and
grossest looking FBB's out there with my Natural Intensity of training
and my height, also extra Tiny Joints as well...
You Look Great BTW... Very impressive..asethetically pleasing and
sexy..BUT Don't let that go your Head..EitherOne! (LOL) For me, the
Mind, Heart and Soul cums Way b4 Beauty ...
You may have what it takes to be as beautiful Inside as well as out,
BUT you need to be more receptive to taking an honest look at yourself
and how you interact with others...especially strangers on the net of
whom you know nothing about.
Take care Robert... I hope to meet you in the near future..I Always
give people the benefit of the doubt...

To be honest, 99% of the time I may be joking and I do have a fairly
twisted sense of humor, but in actuality, I really don't care about what
about 99.99% of the people in this newsgroup think of me. I just drop in
here occasionally as this group now us just horrible. It used to be an
AMAZING place back in the mid 90s through about 2000 or so. Regular posters
included Dan Duchaine, Pat Arnold, Will was here then too, Lyle McDonald,
Fred Hatfield, Jerry Brainum and many others who escape me now. It is a
shame as the vast majority of posts here now are off topic or garbage by
the out of control # of anonymous trolls.

The key word here is looked, past tense. I had the same type of renal
failure that Flex Wheeler and many other top black athletes including Sean
Elliot and Alonzo Mourning from the NBA. It is called Focal Segmental
Glomerulosclerosis. It has becoming much more common in late 20s to early
30s athletic black males. It had nothing to do with my use of steroids. To
this day they have zero clue how I got it as I am one of the few white guys
to get it. I was the right age and athletic, but the wrong skin color. :-)
My friends joke around that I must have some black in my background because
of me being a Jazz drummer and I was a very fast sprinter in high school.
:-) I was on dialysis for 8.5 years and had a transplant in Oct. of 98. I
had a lot of moronic MDs initially who swayed me away from transplantation
by claiming that all the anti rejection meds were so horrible etc. That was
complete horse shit. Had I known, I would have jumped on the transplant
list as soon as I got sick, but I did not even get on the list for 5 years.
Once I got on the list, it took 2.5 years, which happened to be THE exact
average for someone with my blood type in Phoenix. It has been fantastic
since I had the transplant. I have not trained in a few months as I got
really busy and was feeling really tired. It turned out I was anemic, but I
was just one point too high on my blood test for insurance to pay for a
transfusion, which would have perked me up instantly. Instead I have had to
get weekly shots of EPO, yes, the same stuff all the bike riders and long
distance runners take. I just got my second shot and am feeling much
better, so I will probably get back into the gym again next week. To be
honest, I really have to make myself go to the gym these days. It is really
hard for me to get rid of that competitive mentality and think that I have
to train my ass off and constantly make gains. I am getting better and it
much easier to go to the gym and just do a basic workout and not kill
myself. Whenever I do train, I get my muscle back quickly as muscle memory
is very real. I am lucky that I at least stay lean, so I can still wear 29"
or 30" jeans depending upon the company. I never let me physique go to my
head. As a matter of fact, the better I got, the more I would stay covered
up. I never went out in public with a tank top unless I was at the beach
etc. and always was covered in the gym unless I was checking something out
near a contest.

To be honest, I really don't care about 99% of the posters in Usenet as
they tend to be anonymous trolls. My main concern is with those I know and

I have been through too much to let much get me down. No offense, but as far as
the faith part goes, I am an atheist, so I am more of a believer that we make our
own fate etc. May I ask what type of infection you had to have to get Vanco that
often? I used to have to get that all the time when I was on peritoneal dialysis
and would get peritonitis. Let me tell you, I had a kidney stone in high school
and that felt like a scraped knee compared to peritonitis. At least when I got to
the hospital with that, they gave me enough morphine to basically put me out
until they cleared it up. The positive about getting it through the PD dialysis
was that I had a catheter in my abdomen already, so they just kept filling my
abdomen up with saline and draining it out, so each time it just kept literally
pulling the infection out of the abdomen and then the Vancomycin and Gentomycin
killed the bugs. Needless to say, after that I gave up that type of dialysis and
started hemo dialysis, the type where you go to a clinic 3 times/week and they
clean the blood. That was FAR better for me than the other type. One more thing I
was curious about, you made an odd comment about my saying I worked with Dan
Duchaine. Dan was one of my best friends and when he died, that is what really
stopped any involvement in BBing. Dan and I met through BBing, but once we became
friends, we almost never even talked about it.
Dear Rob,
First Off, I am sorry about Dan... When we meet I will fill you in
privately of some things that I totally lost respect for ...however I
am not going to publicly announce this very private stuff...we all have
things in life that we regret..that is all I am saying here, when we
speak you will understand where I am coming from...
I would like to stop by and see you, but it appears I will have no down
time until after the first week of October..things are just hitting me
fast and furious and have to be in the best condition I can with only 5
weeks to work at it... I still have a ways to go since my rotater
surgery..its tough... very painful still...only so much I can do...
as far as the Vancomycin... I had a Bacterial Abscess that I had tried
to medicate on my own... I can tolerate a LOT of Pain and was
excruciating..my Leg was the size of an elephant and my ass was Bigger
than a watermelon...my temp. was 105 and I was delerious before I
called a friend for help... I could not even bend my head down 10
degrees wihout feeling pain in my ass... leg weighed at least 300
pounds it felt... the Drs. were freaking out...had a staff of 6 Top
surgeons waiting for me to get thru my cat scan, all prepped for
surgery... they were going to Amputate If the Poison had begun invading
my muscle tissue... the infectious disease Dr. was the one in Charge of
the SARS incident... I was at the Mercy of the Good Lord and those
awesome Drs... ( I do not judge, even though you are atheist) I was in
so much Pain that I was ready to die actually.... I had a Drain placed
in me for a Month..they tried every other antibiotic out there and
nothing touched it...The Vancomycin being the strongest known to Man is
what they do NOT want to use unless it is the last resort...for if my
body built an immunity to that then there would be no hope and I would
have to loose my Leg and ASS or Die...
Take Care Rob..again I apologize if my comment about Dan hurt you... at
times I F#@K Up just like everyone else.... I am Sorry....
Take Good Care,
Lynn

Pete,
I was talking about guys with aesthetic bodies. I do find it interesting
that you only have one guy on your list who did much as a BBer. Vic,
Nimrod and Orville all had hideous looking bodies. Jesus, Dorian looked

Pete,
I am sorry, but no one on the planet would consider any of your guys to have
anything close to an aesthetic body. It would be like claiming Kenny G is a
better sax player than John Coltrane was. It is just fact. I guess a better
analogy would be to claim that you can drive better than Michael Schumacher.

Not true. Vic should not even be mentioned because he was a fat ass who never
had the balls to compete and Nimrod and Orville were being judged by the
standards of their day. They would not be good in any era. Orville competed
rather recently and Nimrod was not that long ago, so your comment is ill
conceived. If you are looking at size, neither Nimrod nor Orville could even
get near Ronnie, Jay Cutler etc. without looking like they had HIV. Vic also
would have looked slim next to Ronnie.

Define aesthetic.
Ronnie has almost 9 straight wins, right?
Richards looked more balanced then Coleman, IMO. Judges, Rob.

It is true, IMO.
After Arnold, they let Zane win because he was much lighter, so avarage
people could indentify themselves more easily. All of a sudden, Sergio and
Arnold were dinosaurs. Then we had Dickerson and Bannout. But then came
haney and Dorian.
Its all marketing Rob, and YOU of all people should know that.

I dont give a fuck if he competed or not. The man was awesome.
He overshadowed Dorian in an exhibition once. I have back issues from Flex
and M&F. First time io saw his pics were in 84, at 275. Solid, rock hard. At
5 feet 9. He later went to 315.

Excuse me?
Nimrod was fucking huge, and that was more then a decade ago. Look at the
pics what Ronnie looked like in those days.
Orville had freaky proprtions.

Vic looking slim next to Ronnie?

Mohammed Makkawy and Shawn are actually quite massive when you take their

Just like Danny Paddilla and Franco.

"He loved me to spank him and come in his mouth ! AAAAAAAAHHHHH !!!!!"

Pete
Precisely, that is why they do not 'appear' too bulky, taking away from
the aesthetics..
oh and one Other addition..I thought my EX Boyfriend ( I choose NOT to
ever reveal his name) was Extremely aesthetically pleasing when he was
OFF his Cycles... naturally gorgeous lines but he took them WAYYyy Too
Far and he was Not a Tall man... and unfortunately he was all about the
physical and not much inside... sad that there are people out there
that loose site on the more meaningful aspects of human performance and
existence...hint hint JMW...very sad... if some of them worked on the
inside they could have the whole world eating out of their hands...
Lynn McC.
I also Loved Samir Bannout, however when Mens BB started becoming so
overly massive, anyones aesthetics is lost, especially with the shorter
people ... I liked Samir better in his younger years... I liked Men BB,
as well as womens BB, Much Better before the size factor increased to
the dramatic degree that it has... to really determine a persons
aesthetics , you must lok at the package by taking the muscular
structure away that was created by them, and IF they still have a
Beautiful Balance of those amazing lines..then you have the perfect
aesthetically pleasing body..it all boils down to a mere " Naturally
Gifted" Balance... Like You Rob...I looked at your Physique with all
the muscle..and I can kind of picture you now wih your misfortunes of
health obstacles ... and I am Certain that you Still Look Great as you
have a beautiful Structure and you Cannot loose That!
Just a Food for Thought! :-)
Take care guys...Must be running..

Pete,
I am sorry, but you are the only one who thinks that. Richards was a fat fuck
who was not nearly as symmetrical as Ronnie. Ronnie is an 8 time Mr. Olympia.
Vic is a far ass with no title. That is what matters. If you lived here in the
US, you would run across the THOUSANDS of morons who claim they could have
played in the NFL or NBA, but did not because of some reason. Your commentary
about Vic would be no different than some guy who does nothing but play
basketball on local courts claiming he was better than Michael Jordan. Unless
you step up with the best, you are a nobody.

Pete,
You don't know the first fucking thing about the IFBB. All this crap about Joe
Weider picking winners is a fairy tale. Zane won because he was the best at the
time.

Sorry Pete, but I don't. I have met Joe Weider and sat in his office. You are a
naive guy sitting in Europe who just reads BBing rags. I have been back stage at
every top contest on the planet, so don't give me any of this bullshit. Joe
Weider barely knows who 80% of the guys are.

LOL! Once again, an exhibition. I have seen the video. #1, he did not over
shadow him, plus he was a fat ass who NEVER got into shape. If he got on stage
in a contest with Dorian, he would have had his ass handed to him. Ask ANYONE
who saw Dorian in person in shape. NO ONE ever looked like he did. He looked
like he was made from solid granite. To this day, I have never seen anyone with
the hardness that Dorian used to display. No matter what you think about your
hero Vic, he never did shit, so in the grand scheme of things, he is a nobody.

Who cares? Coleman and Cutler walk around over 330. Vic was never "rock hard."

Who cares what Ronnie looked like back then? Are you even capable of making a
cogent argument? Get Nimrod's record and see where he placed at either the
Arnold or Olympia. That is all that matters.

I agree he is freaky, freaky ugly. If he is so great, then why does he place so
low in contests?

Look Pete, you obviously have some fascination with big ugly guys who don't
place in shows. That is cool, but to try to even compare them to the guys who
are the best is silly. I am guessing this stems from the fact that you are
afraid to get on stage. Once again, my best argument for this is the guy who
thinks he could have played in the NBA etc., but never did and then claimed he
was better than Michael Jordan. Either step up or shut up.

What did you think of Flex?
Lynn McC.
Wheeler goes without mention!! :-O! SO Perfectly Balanced that he can
get away with the size! Freaking Amazing... But, I personally prefer a
'less' muscular wheeler...
LMcC.

Check the back issue of Flex where is covered with a back program.
You WILL be amazed by how he looked way back then...

Victor was VERY symmetrical.
Which bodyparts were lagging?

So you conclude that his body was NOT amazing because of that?
Dickerson won in London, so gimme a fucking break...

I was commenting on how he looked.
Not how many titles he won.

The men:
I think it was Arnold who said, regarding judging, the question to ask
is "Who would you want to look like?"
Kevin Levrone in 1994.
Robbie Robinson in 1978.
Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1974.
Jim Haislop in 1968.
The women:
A truncation of Arnold's words: "Who would you want?"
Claudia Montemaggi in 1992.
Sharon Marvel in 1991.
Anja Langer in 1988.
Juliette Bergmann always!

Nimrod's a tough one to find pics of.
http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/nimrodking.JPG
I met him at the 1990 Arnold Classic. Monstrous, but not a bull so far
as thick joints are concerned. HE may not have had wrists smaller than
Jackie, but he was indeed small-jointed - I'd go so far as to say
aesthetic - for someone so huge.
> <snip>Nimrod and Orville <snip> would not be good in

I think the phrase I'm searching for is, "ARE YOU ON CRACK?!!!??!!!"

Size, eh? How about waist to shoulder differential?
Jay wishes he'da got some of what mama an poppa Burke passed to
"little" Orville in the V-taper department.

> After Arnold, they let Zane win because he was

Franco was an incredible physique, but, yeah, also an incredibly
sentimental favorite in '76 after having competed with Arnold all that
time. Still, who was going to beat him that year, Mike Katz?
Zane, however, was lucky the '77 O wasn't decided by popular vote as Ed
Corney would have certainly taken the prize.
Regardless, Zane had paid his dues as a loyal IFBB competitor. Zane's
loyalty notwithstanding, it's a crime that Robby didn't get the '78
Olympia. Zane was a deserving Mr. O, of course, but NOT all three years
- '77, '78, and '79. No.
Mentzer would've gotten my vote over Zane in '79. Again, he might still
be alive if he'd taken at least one frigging O.
Butterfly effect, anyone?
But Schuh's talking aesthetics, so let's fast forward to Danny Padilla
and 1981. HOW was he not crowned Mr. Olympia that year?
> All of a sudden, Sergio and Arnold were dinosaurs.
Sergio was competing in the WBBG and WABBA and Arnold, of course, had
move on.
> Then we had Dickerson and Bannout.
Dickerson's a mystery, but I always thought Samir was incredible. I
first saw a pic of him in Dan Lurie's Muscle Training Illustrated. Iirc
there was a pullout poster and I was, like, "Who the heck is this guy?"
I'd never heard of him. Later, I was equally surprised to see him
crowned the Olympia winner. Surprised, but not at all in disagreement.
> But then came haney and Dorian.
If you can't call Haney and Yates aesthetic, well, I think you're in
need of an eye exam.
> Its all marketing <snip>
I think marketing is what did Sergio in. Didn't help him!
I think marketing is what also put the kibosh on Robby. Btw, according
to Robinson's website, he spent a lot of time in your neck of the
woods, Pete.
"After winning numerous titles during the 1970s and establishing
himself as the preeminent professional bodybuilder of the era, Robby
seemingly disappeared from the competitive scene. In reality, he had
moved to Amsterdam to take better advantage of the many offers he was
getting for posing and seminars." From:

> Unless you step up with the best, you are a nobody.
As Denis Leary might say, two words, Schuh:
Matt fucking Mendenhall!
He never got to compete against the so-called best, but was certainly
NOT a nobody.
Aesthetics, size, condition, presence, looks, EVERYTHING but the right
judges.
[...]
> You don't know the first fucking thing about the IFBB. All
> this crap about Joe Weider picking winners is a fairy tale.
Who said anything about Joe Weider? The judges, Bobby! The judges are
human and nothing you can say about you meeting Joe and being at every
top contest yadayada will convince me that the judges aren't swayed by
sentiment, by the magazines, by things other than simply the condition
of the athlete and who looks BEST at the time of the contest. It's
bullshit. You are the one who obviously doesn't know the first fucking
thing about human nature. "All this crap" is apparently what's packed
between your ears in place of your brain!
> Zane won because he was the best at the time.
Bullshit. Zane was incredible, but simply because you consider him "the
best at the time" does not explain his win absolutely. No. You're
wrong.
[...]
> I have met Joe Weider and sat in his office.
What's that phrase? ~*BIG FAT HAIRY DEAL!!!!!*~
> <snip> I have been back stage at every top contest on
> the planet, so don't give me any of this bullshit.
Say, have you judged any contests? Get your buddy Brink to give the low
down on judging requirements and then judges' behavior. He's willing to
talk shit about Mike Mentzer so maybe he'll talk some shit about
judges, too. Oh, wait, only the dead judges, of course, right? Talk
about "this bullshit."
> Joe Weider barely knows who 80% of the guys are.
Any other words of respect to offer, Bobby?
> Once again, my best argument for this is the guy who
> thinks he could have played in the NBA etc., but never
> did and then claimed he was better than Michael Jordan.
And, once again, I'll counter with Matt Mendenhall. He could have
competed in the IFBB, but never did. He may not have claimed he was
better than many of the past (and some of the current) pros, but he
was.

Excellent. Thanks for the addition, Lynn.
Visited the York Barbell Co. again today. Was in York area visiting my
