Hi, I just wanted to say that in May 1995 I tried Tom PLatz's and Leo
Costa's overly advertised Big Beyond Belief Program of Serious Growth
>from Optimum Training Systems. Before this program I had tried everything
different training techhniques, high intensity, low intensity, cycling,
periodization, etc... I also tried different diets. I drove my friends
nuts with all of the egg white's I was drinking daily, and the enormous
quantities of food I was eating. I also tried different supplements,
like amino acids, Mega Mass 4000, Cybergenics, etc. You get the point!
Anyway, Nothing seemed to work for me. When I first started
weightlifting, I gained an enormous amount of weight (17 lb) because my body
was in shock, than it got used to it and I had to change my routine, but
that didn't help; I hit an UNbreakable plateau. So when I tried Big
Beyond Belief (BBB), I conjured up the last ounce of enthusiasm I had in
me. NOW, 18 weeks later I have completed Level 1 and am off to level2.
I should probably give up at this point(A six day program can kill a guy
my size).
Anyway, the results so far are in. After 18 weeks of hard labor and
torture, I have gained............ drum roll...... 2 fuckiiiing pounds of
lean body mass..And that's all! They said the results would be
phenomenal--- apparently NOT!!!!!
I think this program was designed for all those steroid users out there.
Hey, You juicers! If you want a program that will give you excellant results
try THIS ONE!!
Shit I've been had again. Anyway, I haven't given up yet. There are 2
last things I can do. BBB has in it an emergency program just in case all
the
other programs don't work, but you should only use it If you've reached
what
they call stagnation. BBB claims I can gain 4 pounds of lean body mass in
only 16 days. Well, I looked at the program, and it's too tough to do
during school time. So I'll have to wait until the winter break. It
involves taining for 1.5 hours for 6 days and then training for 30
minutes 6 times a day for the next 10 days while starving the body of
protein for 4 days and increasing carbs, and on the fifth day, letting
loose and eating extremely high protein and low carbs for diet (the
process is repeated again, so that it comes out to 10 days).

If this doesn't work I'll give up on Body Building and just lift to
stay in shape. In the meantime I took on a
weightlifting class, whose instructor claims he can put BBB to shame; He
laughed when I told him about it. He has trained Powerlifters,
BodyBuilders, and Football players. He is my other chance at breaking my
plateau next to the 4 pounds in 16 days program.

So, I'll keep you readers out there posted on my progress, OK.
Right now, I weigh 152 pounds with 13% fat at 5'9"

I went from weighing 140 to 180 in one year. I put on forty, yes forty
pounds of muscle in one year. I guess that roughly 3 pounds a month. I
used heavyweight gainer 900 (cost $35.00 for a 7 pound bucket) at half
servings and ate for about 8 hours a day. As a correctional officer up
in a tower I didn't have much else to do. I live and die by heavyweight
gainer 900. Only other excuse I could think of is that I had just turned
22 and everyone says you hit a growth spurt, that could also be it but I
don't think so. Hevyweight works.

Yeah, but these are meals. So you give up chicken for powder. I
was wondering if anyone knew of something like this, but one that is a
supplement, and works just as good?

You need to relax man... I mean, damn, you're just doing way way too too
much.. Forget about BBB; there's a much simpler way to lift...

HEAVY WEIGHTS
LOW REPS
LOW SETS
--- all to failure - all the time - no exceptions
lift each bodypart once per week
workout 3 times a week (max)
sleep sleep sleep
stop moving (no dancing, no biking, no jogging, no women, limited walking, etc.)
eat like a mo fo -6+ meals a day (try and get 200g of protein a day in)

and you'll grow...

I gained 30 lbs in about 4 months this past year... I used to have a fast
metabolism, and could never gain weight... so I became immobile.. stop
dancing, stop going to clubs, stop messing with married women, etc.. and I
lifted very heavy, very intensely... always to failure... 3 times a
week.. and I ate like I never ate before... every 2.5 hours w/lots of
protein.. eat chicken, eat beef.. protein shakes are fine, but limit
those to when you wake up, quickly after a workout (in addition to your
regular meal), and before you go to bed..... you follow this regimen
(religiously) and you'll grow.. I can guarrantee (well, I really can't, I
guess) that if you follow this you'll gain 20 lbs. within 3 months...

lifting doesn't need to be so complicated, it's actually quite easy!

O.K. Lets ask this question: How many people are REALLY, truely, HONESTLY
dedicated enough to actually live like this for a while?

My guess is not very many.

I'm beginning to find out just how difficult that really is.

dedication not issue,

money and time the issue..
who go to work for me while I sleep..
who spend all day shop for organic foods and fresh meats while I lift
who pay for phosphag* for me drink after lift
who clean my house while I eatsleeplift

Even a single guy with one job and no girlfriend has to spend 12 hrs
on the overhead of just his day job. IF I quit my job to make time
I can;t afford to lift.

I think you need to look at your proposition again in regards to no
women. What is that shit??? You either have to be with a woman(assuming
that you are straight)(had to put that in for all of the PC crowd out
there!!) or play the old knuckle shuffle with your piss pump. Neither
is going to make you small. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ummm.. sorry, I didn't mean to say exclude women from your life... hell
no! I could never do that.. what I meant was that you have to exclude
some of the things where you may encounter women... like clubs - I used to
go to dance clubs at least 3 times a week.. I love dancing, but all extra
aerobic activity plus all the damn smoking there was just getting to be a
bit too much... bars..etc.. and, yes, I do have a woman (I suppose I need
some aeorbic activity. (: ) ... I hope this makes more sense
(clarification)...

to blaine-
it's not as hard as it sounds.. I mean, it would be great to not have to
work a day job, and be able to relax all day.. (I have two friends which
are doing exactly this - their father's supporting them) .. I'm fortunate
though to have a job where I can sit and eat whenever I feel like it..
unless it gets real hectic .. anyways...
the bottom line is this:
if you want to get big, you've gotta be dedicated....
if you're not dedicated, well, obviously, it's going to take a much longer
time to reach your goals....

Well, when you're used to 20-hour days on a regular basis, it is...

I'm getting back into the routine of a slow long semester as opposed to a
hectic money-earing summer.

>I mean, it would be great to not have to

(I tried to refrain from this one, but couldn't.)

I hate this... Makes me sick.

Well, started a day job that'll let me do this to an extent.

If at all.

I was just making the observation that very few people DO have that kind of
dedication. I thought it would be a lot easier than it is turning out, but
that doesn't mean I'm not keeping up with it. I have a T-shirt that says:

"Weightlifting is Life. The rest is just details."

Until you've actually taken the time to TRUELY live this statement, you can't
appreciate how difficult living it actually is.

: "Weightlifting is Life. The rest is just details."

What is DEDICATION?

I say its being in the gym on a Friday or Saturday night busting your butt.
Its that skinny guy that you see in the gym every night, finally making gains.
Its going to the gym after you've had a hard day at work.
Its going to the gym and busting your butt even though you've been on a two
year plateau.

I have also used Big Beyond Belief and have modest results with
it. I have had better gains with BBB, than on my own. It may be
due to the intensity of the program. I am a runner/Nordik
Tracker who began using weights to add some conditioning to my
upper body. I am 52 yrs old and have found without altering my
diet, my body fat stays low, and I feel better about my
conditioning. Whether the BBB is the answer or not, I don't
know. I have decent results with it, and am rather pleased with
it. I am certain there are other programs that would do the same
when you follow them with intensity. I like it because it gives
me a pattern to follow. I use the ramping and find I don't get
stale, and I have fast workouts. I must admit the goal is not to
become bulky, but rather to tone and maintain my aerobic fitness.

If you don't mind my asking, who does "Big Beyond Belief"? I saw your
post and others regarding this program, but am unaware of of this
program.

Thanks-
