What's the matter? Doesnt anyone want to post their workouts anymore?
It is rivetting stuff compared to a total drought
It is like sitting on the toilet - if there is nothing to read I would pick
up the phone book or read the label on the toothpaste.

Dats a very inneresting perspective, and proly one of the few that
guarantees long-term reliability in any effort.
I call it being "process driven" as opposed to the typical goal-driven
mania.
Nothing wrong with goals per se, but more often than not they are part of
the philistinic/barbarian mind-set -- see below.

I supposed one's process could be a "series of goals", but since most
assholes can't see past dey abs -- or imagined abs -- "series of goals" is
proly expecting way too much.

Very few people realize, with all this goal/ab bullshit, that the real
benefit comes from the simple DOING of stuff -- of legitimate stuff, of
course -- and not this goal-setting bullshit.
Goals, like Heart-rate monitors, often interfere with the process, with what
our true healthful equilibrium level is.

People don't realize that HRMs are more diagnostic tools, learning devices,
than they are goal-achieving devices to help you "run better", etc.
But assholes will actually DOWNLOAD their heart-rate data.... I nearly fell
off my pyooter chair, when that dawned on me..... goodgawd.....

I hope Jason never admits to downloading hr data..... I'll be SOOO
disappointed.....
I'm sure Friedes has a decade's worth of downloaded HR data.... Proly
decorates his walls with it, framed.

Ahhh, the sign of a TRUE artiste -- someone who appreciates the feel of a
good pulley!!
Good = frictionless = ball bearing = expensive. OK = bronze bearing. Shit
= bowflex.
Altho, ackshooly, to be fair, I tried a bowflex, it felt surprisingly
smooth, but shit pulleys CAN feel good -- for the first week.

Do you use plastic-coated cable or bare steel cable? What diameter?
I use 1/8 plastic coated wire, but the plastic coating/sheathing cracks
after a while -- cuz, well, I bought the cheap stuff.

Where do you get your parts from?

Merkins are essentially barbarians, from a quality appreciation pov -- you
can feed them any kind of slop in any kind of trough, and they think it's
gourmet cuisine in a 5-star restaurant with valet parking -- as long as
they've see'd it on fuknTV.

Ergo McD's, Bowflex, heh, and $tarfucks -- Bowflex's treadclimber being one
of the Great Fitness Absurdities.

Speaking of McD's, just saw Morgan Spurlock's SuperSize Me -- again.
Spurlock was supposedly headed to liver failure on a 30 day McD's diet,
WHILE becoming ADDICTED to it..... Great piece of film-journalism. Perhaps
a little over-stated in some parts, but perhaps not enough in others.
Gaining1# a day IS very possible. LOSING 1# a day is not, tho.

McD's and ab-shit -- near-trillion dollar bidniss. Thar's trillions in them
thar MindFucks, esp. when it comes to mindfucking our schools and kids.
goodgawd.... THAT part of the doc was really a jaw-dropper.

David, you should post pics of yer stuff. Not too many people make their
own.
Hey, just think..... Jason might become YOUR disciple, instead of
effingFriedes' !!

But, you SHOULD do *some* cardio, even if it's just 1x/week.
You'll be surprised how difficult dat shit is, largely because the caloric
expenditure of say running, on a per minute basis, DWARFS that of weight
lifting, sad to say.
And is a very important part of The Process.
A run in a decent park greatly helps the psychological pain. Assholes can
do it on a treadmill in front of pre-programmed graphics, but parks are much
better.

You could, for example, mix the hams in with thighs/calves, since it is an
opposing muscle, and run on that day instead.
What do you do for hamstrings, anyway? The hams are really a two-part
muscle, anyway. The top part gets hit by things like weed-pulling
(deadlift?), and the bottom part by leg curls.

Yes exactly I go broke buying Ronstan marine quality - there is something
about the feel of quality rope running through quality wheels with good
bearings

Just basically rope - prestretched 10mm again marine quality - tensile
strength 2000 # - much easier to use, knot it, no swaging - used to use bare
steel cable so you can check for wear easier - but rope works great - smooth

I have a ton of contacts in the industry here - so I get pulleys wholesale,
buy anything from a couple of manufacturers - handles, pin weights, various
stuff

You'll get a kick out of this: I machine my own pulleys, in particular a
"frameless" pulley, that allows for very quick cable changes, for different
exercises on a selectorized weight stack -- what I believe you are calling
"pin loaded" weights.

On effing ball bearings. Very elegant, SUPER useful.

I gotta pick your brain on this one day..... I'm going to have really start
getting serious about basic cable hardware, standard pulleys, etc. pretty
soon.

Well, Jason does a pretty good job of figgering things out -- eventually.
And, well, good for a Mormon..... altho ahm sure evolution is throwing
Jason fer a loop....

We have a good bunch here, even the KB-ers, but Jason et al don't seem to be
willing grok the *philosophical* and *turf* pov to this whole kb-db thing.
Which is, when you talk about method A to the *deliberate exclusion* of
methods B thru Z, and hiding behind the refrain, Oh, well, we aren't
knocking YOUR stuff.... , that this is STILL a mindfuck, a "manipulation by
omission", if you will.

It's no different than a Ford salesman goin on and on and on about how great
their shit is, and never mentioning OTHER cars, as if they don't exist. OR
misrepresenting other cars.

KB-ers say shit like, Oh, KBs will do this, they allow full range of motion,
they don't do this, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...... NEVER
mentioning that Fuuuuck, all this applies EXACTLY to dumbbells......
except MORESO!!!!!!

Never a fukn word....

So The Pubic, unfamiliar with fundamental details, is led to believe that
kb's are sumpn special.

And this "implicit deception" doesn't seem to bother ANYONE except you'n'me,
and mebbe the Moynihan guy, who really didn't rant on this the way he should
have, mebbe not at all

Just because you aren't telling CO-missive lies doesn't mean you ain't lyin.
You can lie much more artfully thru the technique of OMission. AND stay out
of jail!!!!!

I just don't know what is so fukn difficult to grasp about this concept.
And some who *do* grasp it don't really seem to be bothered by it.

It bothers the shit out of me, cuz this is the EXACT same deception and
manipulation that allowed -- and allows -- WS to do what they did and still
do -- and be REWARDED for it with over a trillion dollars in bailout money .
And what allows Monsanto to literally OWN the world's food source, by
patenting seeds, and then suing muthafuckas who don't use them.
Heh, and WINNING!!!!!!
Ditto Big Med, Big Pharma, Big Insurance, and Big Oil.

People just aren't bothered by shit.
Earl Butz (Nixon's Secy of Agriculture, who set the plans in motion to
destroy the small farmer, and proly fellatio'd Monsanto really good) said
about Black people:
All they want is loose shoes, tight pussy and a warm place to
shit....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_Butz

Add Calvin Klein jeans, cool sunglasses, and an over-priced Lexus to that
statement, and you've pretty much described The Global (M)asses.

Ergo, nuthin bothers anybody, except mebbe pedophilia and tainted Coca Cola.
And then only if it's happening in their neighborhood.

For all the good it does. Ahm STILL broke and miserable.
Cuz, basically, False Facts have much more allure -- and infinitely higher
profit margins -- than True Facts.
Heh, proselytize True Facts, and you will STAY broke.....
Dance around them, and never get to the fukn point, and you'll get rich.

Remember Greer Childers, who concluded that since aerobic exercise requires
oxygen, well, then, just breathing hard will burn the fat right offa yer
body, and made millions...... yes indeedy.
Or that a pudgy Tony Little sold millions of ab isolators, and then
gazelles..... wow.

Well I for one lurked more than posted I'll admit,..but was interested
in others routines.experience , advise etc.

Seems like the few times I did 'chime' in I'd get some smart-assed
answer,...

Then it seemed each time I looked in, it was as though the only
interest was k/bells... or trying to convince us all to use k/bells....

So as such I quit looking in at all.

I recently bought a PC,[actually L/Top & am looking for other groups in
that circle.

Matter of fact I may soon be unplugging from W/TV altogether. It
appears to be dying anyway?

I'm thinking about discontinuing web-tv altogether,..but if there is

You can connect to this group and other Usenet newsgroups using a
newsreader, and you get Free Usenet access at:

You can also use google groups, but be prepared to wade through a lot of
