Or is it equivalent to just a high School diploma, or it is
something else which is not yet determined?
Homeopathic medicine is a rather weird "subject"; I would be
more likely to consider this a "quack" degree.

Does anyone know what courses are taught in the degree?
Everything remains the same except the pharmacy part is different as
compared to MBBS degree [in India].
BHMS students are taught entire Physiology and anatomy that covers 14
credits each. Clinical are based on real human bodies and not on dummy
or animals or plants. Besides following courses were also taught in
details:
Pathology, Bacteriology and Parasitology with lab (7.0 credits)
Forensic medicine with lab (7.0 credits)
Social and Preventive medicine with lab (7.0 credits)
Organon and Homeopathic Philosophy I with lab (7.0 credits)
Surgery Including Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Dentistry and
Homeopathic Therapeutics with lab (14.0 credits)
Obstetrics, Gynecology and Homeopathic Therapeutics with lab (14.0
credits)
Homeopathic Materia Medica II with lab (10.5 credits)
Organon and Homeopathic Philosophy II with lab (14.0 credits)
Medicine - Including Pediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatrics, and
Homeopathic Therapeutics, with lab (14.0 credits)
Homeopathic Materia Medica II with lab (14.0 credits)
I know you all hate Homeopathy in United States and call this as a
half-ass education.
My simple question is to those who can understand and answer in a very
sensible manner:
With this degree what can a person do in order to work in United
States?
With these credits that are equivalent to United States courses what
other courses can be done in United States so as to work in medical
field? [I am saying these courses are equivalent since my credit
evaluation was done by World Educational Services Inc. If anyone wants
a copy, copy can be provided, if requested.]
Rather than retaking these courses in United States are there any
fields available in United States that can accept these course and
transfer credits so that I do not have to redo these courses again?
BHMS is a 5 and one half years course in India - Pune University. Does
this means that this course has no equivalency in Unites States
educational systems? This means there is really no need for such a
course in Indian University to be conducted at all or there should be
some correspondence with Indian University with United States
Universities.
If there is no equivalency that means 5 and one half years were
completely wasted along with the tuition fees paid by the parents.
Indian Universities should be made aware of this fact and this field
should be completely banned in India, if there is seen no recognition
for this medical field in the United States.
As far as I know BHMS is a recognized degree in USA. I can understand
the frustration of my dr...@yahoo.com and other people because I feel
exactly the same way as if my wife has wasted her 6 years for nothing.
However we are trying to explore different options to see how it can
be best utilized to get a job or further education. As we find more
we will post that information. I know of a homeopath doctor from USA
(he received his degree in ND from USA) and is practicing pure
homeopathy with some bells and whistles. However he can practice as a
holistic practitioner and prescribe only over the counter homeopathic
medicines. Only three states have licensing for practicing
homeopathy, Arizona, Connecticut and I believe Nevada.
I am looking into if anybody who had BHMS had gotten admission into an
MD in USA and if they got any credit for their studies at India,
because like you said earlier all the studies (BHMS and MBBS) are the
same except pharmaecology.
If you know any info please let me know.
Also how did you get your degree evaluated by WES. How do they figure
out the GPA for every subject because our indian marks will be a grade
of "F" in this country. What was the information you requested from
your college for WES. Also how do they calculate the semester credits
for individual courses. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Since I am new to holistic practitioner, if you have some time can you
answer these questions?
May I know how to be a holistic practitioner when a person has B.H.M.S
degree from India?
Are there any specific jobs in holistic based health care network
where they employ a registered holistic practitioner [specific for
Homeopaths]?
What roles and duties does registered holistic practitioner does? Does
a registered holistic practitioner gets paid, if yes do you know the
salary range?
I came across web site with URL: http://www.aadp.net/
But the above web site does not explain much as to what duties or
roles of holistic practitioner.
Please provide your valuable assistance.
