I've found discrepancies between two of my dictionaries concerning the
word 'absence'. Using british english, is the word spelled 'absence' or
'abscence'. According to the on-line dictionaries I've found, none of
them recognizes 'abscence'.
Thank you.

Gunnar:
1. Throw away the dictionary which contains the word 'abscence'. There's no
such word.
2. Put a question mark at the end of your questions.
3. The word 'british' is, typically, capitalised.
It's "absence". None of my British dictionaries lists "abscence", so it
looks to me like a misprint. Which dictionary did you find it in?

Yes, I noticed that after I posted the article.

Of course! Must have made a slip.
Thanks!
