I have purchased a Ryobi weed eater device this summer - it was suggested by
Consumers Report as a good buy. It was.

This device accepts other attachments: leaf blower/vacuum, edge trimmer and
yes, a small snow blower that looks pretty decent - looks like those
electric models sold by Toro and Noma.

Has anyone out there used one before - I would like to get some ideas before
I shell out the $$$. $120 USD or $190 CAD. I am in Toronto, and we do not
get that much white stuff, except for this past weekend.... 8:)

I would doubt that a punny little weed eater would have much power to
run a snow blower. Sounds like a gimmick to me. It probably has only
enough power to work in powder snow up to 2-3 cm deep. Save your money
and if you really need a snow blower, buy a good two stage one.

I have all the attachments except the snow blower and I think theres a
tiller, not sure. Its a very nice and versitle tool. Hard to start
sometimes in colder weather.

I did buy the snow thrower attachment. It works fine for smaller jobs,
sidewalks, small areas of the driveway where the plow did not get close
enough. It is more like an electric snow shovel, than a real snow
blower, but I was truly surprised at the power it did have. I used it a
couple of times in 15+ inches of snow, but needed to make 2 or 3 passes
over the same spot to clear it completely. It would be hard to do a
whole driveway with it, the width of the attachement, and the power is
just not quite enough for that kind of job.
