furnace filters/spraying

Howdy, folks:
I've used one of my stepdaughters' cheap hair sprays, a few times, and
it seems to do an acceptable job. I guess the cheaper it is, the stickier it
is, which is what you want, right?
The only problem I think y'all would have with this solution is that if
you re-installed the filter too soon before the hair spray (or any *other* spray
for that matter) dries, you could concievably "gum-up" the fan blades, and motor
with it. And of course, y'all are only spraying whatever-it-is on the outside
surface of the filter, aren't you? I feel that spraying the inside surface is
only asking for particles to get pulled loose, and drawn (or blown) through your
ductwork, probably causing more problems than were remedied.
So, what do y'all think? Good idea? Bad idea? Lemme know.
