We recently had an Andersen double hung window installed. We want to
install blinds on the inside of the window frame. There is a beveled
molding on the inside of the frame that is too thin to attach mounts to.
I have been told this is standard on Andersen windows and that they sell
special blinds for their windows. I am sure the blinds are hideously
expensive. I have also been told they sell a part (I think it is called a
headstock) that will allow me to mount standard blinds. Has anyone used
this? If so, is it a do it yourself job for someone who wallpapers,
plasters, paints but has no power saw?
BTW, I called Andersen and the person answering the phone was clueless.
Perhaps I was given incorrect information on the availability of this
headstock (or whatever it is called), but the phone help guy had never
even heard of a problem mounting blinds.
