Wallpaper Paste

Our first attempt at hanging wallpaper:

Everything went great, except for one thing.

We didn't clean the paste residue off of the wallpaper when it was
still wet. Now the paste is dry and all over our walls. Is there a
way to remove the paste without ruining the wallpaper?
