Not really. Especially if all you're gonna do is come back to tell us all
about your spam group.

However, Sunday newspapers are usually full of free offers like that
(checks, balances, etc) and they give their website addresses on their
advertising. That's a good place to look.

Do online banking and your need for personal checks and stamps will drop
considerably.

Indeed. This month I used *three* checks, and it was a big event. Normally,
it's only one, which is for rent. But this month I mailed a check to an
individual because it was the easiest way to get them money I owed them
for something, and I also cashed a check at the supermarket (for the first
time ever) because my ATM card expired and the machine ate it (and the
credit union forgot to send me a new one in advance).

Another approach is to look into whether you can get an account at your
credit union (or bank) which includes free checks. I spent a lot of time
trying to find cheap checks on the internet, failed to find anything really
all that cheap, ordered checks anyway, and then a month or two later
changed to another type of account for other reasons, only to realize the
new account gives me free checks.

I havent used one for years, literally, and that was a dinosaur
operation that flogs the cheapest pads for my swamp cooler.
I keep just one check in my wallet for just such an eventuality,
and it was pretty battered by the time I came to use it, and
he didnt look that happy about accepting it, but he did.

A drunken celebration eh ?

Not stupid enough to still be paying rent.

I pay all those electronically now and got paid that way too, the cash
for the bills I paid for one of the neighbours while they were away
and I was paying their bills would have been inconvenient for me.

I always have more than one card in the wallet for just such a problem.

A Jap would have the decency to disembowel itself.

Translation" you don't pay rent because welfare pays it for you.

Translation: Australia now uses debit cards for welfare payments.
