off sending in a rebate, and the allowed time expired - yesterday!
It was a $15 ECS rebate from a newegg.com purchase. Rebate form said
the rebate had to be postmarked within 18 days of purchase, and that 18
days was up yesterday.
I sat down to fill everything out this afternoon, and realized there
was no point to it.
All I can offer as an excuse is that our new house is getting fixed
up, and I've been spending a lot of time going up there to look over the
work, and also to do a number of projects myself.
Still, I'm annoyed at myself. Usually I do these rebates right away
when they come.

Email newegg. What's the worst that'll happen. You won't get the expired
rebate...

Don't try that with a check you received and didn't cash
before the expiration. They use separate accounts per dated
rebate, and close the account. You not only lost your
rebate, but get dinged for a $10 returned deposit item fee.
I don't bother with electronics rebates anymore. If it's
rebated, it's had problems and returned for issues. In a
few months, it'll be on deep sale, or a blow out anyway.
A consumer good from a respected company is another story,
the best provide discount coupons or at least would never
risk loosing a loyal customer by playing a rebate game.
