I knew that it was too good to last. I got a letter telling me that the
2% cash rebate is history on March 29th. This was the best credit card
cash rebate program available.

Discover Card has had the 2% cash back, which you can double by
taking a coupon for any of the vendors that advertise with them.
They also have 5% on selected items, which rotates every 90 days.
This quarter, it is on travel related items like airline tickets.
I have used Discover Card since they first came out in the mid
1980s, and never had an issue with them.

My BoA card is 5% on the things I buy most, 1% on everything else. It has a
one category 5% option and I choose the category.

I've paid Discover by EFT for years, but I have to initiate the
transfer and specify the amount. Sounds like you want to entirely
automate the process, which I would not do... because of security
concerns.

I only very rarely ever find someone who doesn't take Discover Card.
I used it for all my daily expenses, such as gas, car repairs, food,
eating out, etc.

I have never had a problem paying on-line.

???I have the automatic minimum payment scheduled for my Discover every
month. I've had it that way for years. I check the amount due each month and
send in the rest of the balance as a separate payment, but the monthly
minimum is paid automatically so I don't have to do anything. Very handy for
vacations and trips so I don't have to worry about missing payments.

What you want and they don't apparently offer is a pull push system,
where you pull the minimum from them automatically and push money in
from your CU. I review my CCs regularly and recently caught a
fraudulent $100 charge. Had I had autopay set up and part of the
autopay money had gone towards paying that fraudulent charge, I would
have had a challenge with the CC company. It might have been OK, but
I'd rather not take the chance. I only autopay when there is a fixed
amount, like internet service, website service, and so on. If there
is any chance of a misread meter, or an unauthorized charge, I
consider it a security risk to pay without verification.
