I admit, my first thought upon seeing the "10 Hiding Spots" article was "oh great! You've just provided a guidebook to all the rookie burglars out there!"

But it's worth reading anyway, I guess. However, I, for one, will never use the trick of putting something valuable into something everyday-looking, such as a book that's had its pages cut out - never mind a bag that was originally marketed and sold with FOOD in it! Anyone should know that the object could too easily get thrown out - or misplaced. Especially if one has a lot of books.

Anyway, it was the second one that got me really concerned - just from the title. Not that I know how reliable Reader's Digest is these days.

I have to say that I never heard of #10.

"How To Spot A Credit Card Skimmer"

I have to say, it took me a while to figure out the first pair of photos. (I would NEVER notice something that subtle in real life...)

Makes me glad that I use my credit card as little as possible.
