Tired of dealing with the criminal element and paying way too much for pot, I over the years taught myself how to grow marijuana using fluorescent lights.

Figuring all the lights and fixtures could later be used around the house for other applications, the amount of money needed for the lights, fans and timers was minimal. The real cost of growing marijuana came from the increased electrical bill, the cost of soil, and the cost of seeds.

It takes about three months and requires twice a day attention. Odor can be a problem, especially the last month or so. Drying and curing can be just as difficult as growing.

The final cost to grow four ounces, from two plants, of the best marijuana I ever smoked, worked out to be about $40 an oz.. The biggest expense was the seeds mailed to me from Canada ($100).

Since growing marijuana is legal where I live, I have no fear of breaking the law. Four ounces is enough to last me about two years.

There are good books available on Amazon or at your library on growing marijuana using fluorescent lights. RollItUp.org is another good place for info.

So, don't deal with criminals. Don't spend a lot of money. And don't drive about if you're high. Peace.

Does that include people who have a daily cocktail? (I don't drink.)

Are you asking about the frugality, or the affect on the body?

One can make their own cocktails, so the cost comes down.

One can attend events that offer free cocktails.

Do bars still offer free drinks for women at certain times? That I
suppose could be frugal.

Mooching is frugal (unless they come around expecting cocktails in
return), so you can make a point of visiting people around cocktail hour,
when they are likely to offer you one.

By off-brand liquor?

Buy in bulk?

But the results after consumption may not be frugal, it depends on the
quantity consumed I guess. Though low consumption will cost less than
greater consuption, even before adding in the cost of the hangover etc.

If one is looking for the "buzz", maybe they should be looking at
alternatives. Maybe some of those drugs give more bang for the buck,
which is frugal, side effects aside. Maybe as liquor goes, cocktails
aren't frugal, but some other liquor is cheap and gives the same results.

Certainly, if you include health care costs, MJ is way more frugal than alcohol.

Then when I ditched both I eventually accumulated a 5 digit bank balance. I know it doesn't sound like much but when you are working 32 hours a week at a near minimum wage, that's over a year of living expenses.

I can get a natural high just reading my bank statement!

How about Free M.J.

In the irony of ironies, the University of Mississippi has been growing
marijuana for the federal gov's little-known Medical Marijuana program
the Compassionate Investigational New Drug program, for decades. Each
month, the federal authorities send the remaining four patients a tin
canister filled with about 300 pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes. Free !

ogram-uncle-sam-provides-pot/

The U.S. Constitution MANDATES that any powers not SPECIFICALLY
designated to the federal level are STATES' RIGHTS issues. Hemp and its
flower cannabis should be regulated by STATES to undo the conflicting
laws that merely 3 corrupt men, out to line their pockets, created in
the 1930's.
And with most marijuana today. state lines are NOT crossed making it not
a Federal case.
Change is coming and the truth will prevail.

Actually making pot legal would be better for everyone. those who want
to use, could w/o supporting organized crime. Legal things can be
regulated and info could be more pure. No lies ! please.
when pot is considered schedule one. people know they are being lied to.
The warnings go ignored. Youth are put at risk. They start not
listening to obvious lies.
Hint' want some pot. Grow it yourself in a patio planter.
and if your state is not enlightened , Work for change.

The time has come where the tax payers no longer want to waste money of
da war on drugs. It failed to accomplish any of its goals.
And taking tax payers off the street and waste police., courts and
prisons facilities. on a victimless "crime" is stupid.
