Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't.

Corse they dont. They're concentrating on the word consumers.

Accepting nominations for a new spot for the MCFL regulars. Time to
erect a tombstone here.
I don't know, I use the Free Agent newsreader and, while I'm not crazy
about the increasing flood of spam, I don't really have any problem
avoiding it. For some reason, almost all of the spam shows up at the
end of the list of messages when I download the headers. Also, there
are rarely any followup messages to the spam which helps the real
postings stand out in the list. If I overlook something now and then,
no biggie.

Similar here, but it is obvious by now that it has turned off any new
posters and hastened the drain of regulars here. Being the only ones
here saying "I don't see anything" is a lot different than having a
vibrant newsgroup where there are a lot of good posts.

That doesnt happen in any newsgroup now. usenet has passed its heyday.
And it isnt just groups that get a lot of spam either.
Amen to that, I was just scrolling past all the junk and thinking that it's time to abandon my beloved
MCFL. I guess the answer is forums that require logging in.
As I've posted before, it's ironic that the folks who would make all this spam lucrative don't know
even know about USENET.
