Extra Judicial Execution Of Brother And Nephew Of Quaid-e-Tehrik

Karachi, December 9, 1995
Mr. Nasir Hussain 62, elder brother of the Quaid-e-Tehrik Altaf Hussain, who
was arrested by the Police and Paramilitary Rangers personnel on December 6
from his home, has been found murdered in cold blood. Also Mr. Nasir
Hussain’s son Arif Hussain 28, nephew of Quaid-e-Tehrik, who was arrested on
the night of 4/5 December 1995, has been murdered in custody. Their bullet
riddled bodies were dumped in Gadap area of Karachi. The photographs
indicate that there are severe torture marks upon their bodies.
According to the press release from MQM International Secretariat in London,
“The MQM reported their arrest to the press and the members of MQM Central
Coordination Committee appealed to the President of Pakistan, the Chief of
Army Staff, the Judges of Supreme Courts and High Courts of Pakistan to
intervene immediately in order to save their lives. But all this was to no
avail, as the barbaric rulers of Pakistan have once again displayed their
callousness in brutally murdering innocent Muhajirs. It has now been proved
beyond doubt that the Bhutto Government is not fit to stay in Power any
longer.”
Quaid-e-Tehrik appealed to his party members not to be despondent and stay
calm, and to national leaders, intellectuals and writers to come forward and
call a spade a spade.
The MQM Central Committee has declared 10, 11 and 12 December 1995 as days
of mourning. The Central Coordination Committee of MQM has also asked the
Mohajirs Nation not to rest until the Government agency personnel
responsible for this barbarity are duly punished. The MQM will announce its
future plan of action after the three days of mourning.
Shaheed Nasir Hussain son of Nasir Hussain was 62 years old. His grand
father Maulvi Mufti Mohammad Ramzan was the grand mufti of Agrah. Shaheed
Nasir Hussain was a first Class Gazetted officer and was retired 20 years
ago as a government employee. 28 years Shaheed Arif Hussain son of Nasir
Hussain was unmarried and a graduate of NED University of Engineering and
Technology. He was employed by Baldia(KMC) Karachi as an engineer. Saheed
Nasir Hussain left a widow, 2 sons and 2 daughters behind him. Funeral would
take place on October 12, 1995 after Zuhr prayer at Jinnah Ground, Federal
“B” area.
