White House 'Drug Czar' Barry McCaffrey has CONFIRMED that he will
participate! Might this signal a welcome shift in public policy?
Watch for a major announcement from his offices on Monday -- that's
what my sources tell me, anyway.

The Forum is "intended to provide the opportunity to join leaders in the
Restorative Justice movement as they share the principles of restorative
justice, explain why they’re so needed, and how they are being implemented
in successful restorative programs across the country". Time will be
allocated for interactive dialogue, fellowship and networking.
The registration fee for the Forum is $295, which includes all conference
materials as well as two seated luncheons, two seated dinners, a breakfast
buffet, and morning coffee breaks and afternoon snacks. If you need
assistance making travel arrangements, the conference organizers recommend
you call Beverly Maldaner at Golden Rule Travel -- Beverly can be reached
toll-free at 800-750-3273.
To register or obtain additional information, call Ron Rosenberger or Nick
Brown at (800) 217-2743. Or visit Justice Fellowship's web site at
<www.justicefellowship.org>.
NOTE: HOTEL BLOCK-BOOKING RATES MAY STILL BE AVAILABLE
Justice Fellowship is requesting attendees to reserve their own hotel
rooms, but they have a block of hotel rooms reserved at the Hyatt Regency
Washington on Capitol Hill -- the site of the Forum -- at special
conference rates of $154/single and $179/double. To make reservations,
call the Hyatt toll-free at 800-233-1234. When calling the hotel, remember
to refer to "Justice Fellowship’s National Forum on Restorative Justice" to
see if you can get the discounted room rates.
Justice Fellowship is part of the same family of organizations as Prison
Fellowship International (PFI), which is where movement scholar Dan Van
Ness is working these days. They are dedicated to justice reform as an
aspect of Christian ministry, but they embrace and encourage Restorative
Justice in the secular and governmental spheres as well. If you haven't
yet done so, please be sure to also visit PFI's excellent,
crucially-important Restorative Justice web site at
<http://www.prisonfellowshipintl.org> and read Dan Van Ness' definitive
book on the topic, 'Restoring Justice' (available through Anderson
Publishers at <http://www.andersonpublishing.com>).
