Please Repost:

The Texas legislature has only 2 weeks left in this session, and the
following legislation is being delayed in committees with the intent to kill
it:
House Bill 1297, introduced by Ciro Rodriguez of San Antonio, to
raise the minimum wage for agricultural workers from $3.35 to the federal
standard of $4.25.
The Texas farm worker minimum wage lags that of other states. The
last time this minimum was raised was in 1987, from $1.95 to $3.35.
Please call your State representative and Senator and urge them to
support passage of this bill!
You can also call the following people, all members of the Calendar
committee, and urge them to expedite passage of HB 1297:
Mark Stiles (Beaumont) (512)463-0706 Chair
Jack Harris (Brazoria) (512)463-0564 Vice chair
