Dear Sir,
I would like to bring to the notice of the PTA a very serious issue that we have been facing since the change in bus routes
My son a student of class II Travels by DTS buses hired by the school plying on route MIS-5
Since the school authorities made modifications in merger of bus routes, there is no teacher / security guard appointed by the school to drop the child at our designated bus stop on the busy Ring Road
The DTC drivers and conductors are least concerned about the parents / their representatives being available at the bus stop to collect the kids.
The driver simply opens the automatic door and no sooner the kids are off, the bus rushes away
I have seen buses of other schools having teachers / security guards who make sure that the parents are present on the stop or else they make a phone call to parents for confirmation
But surprisingly this bus route does not have this basic security measure
Last week the bus came in around 2 minutes earlier to the stipulated time, and by the time i reached the stop, i was horrified to see my 6 years old son standing on the stop all alone. Thanks to the parent of another kid, who was waiting with my son
I am sure you can imagine the experience i must have gone through seeing my 6 years old child being left alone by the Bus
To the best of my knowledge, there is a supreme court ruling stating that there must be an attendent in every school bus appointed by the school authorities . My case is a clear violation of the ruling
Hence dear sir, may i request you to kindly take this issue with the school authorities to ensure that small children are not left unattended in the school buses
Thanks
