The purported advantage of Monday tests is that the weekend is when children finally have some time to study and prepare (and parents have time to help). But this defeats the whole point of CCE. Tests are not supposed to be a disruption for which you stress on preparing (perhaps de-focussing from learning). Learning ought to be a continuous process.

I would strongly support a change of the standing date and let weekends be time to refresh and pursue extra-curricular activities. Maybe, Wednesday? Or, even Friday? Maybe, we can evaluate both sides of the argument and if parents agree, our representatives can seek school's response to this and discuss if there is a pedagogic reason for Monday tests.

Dear parents

Just a suggestion that we should also consider practices of other schools while discussing this. I believe that most schools have switched cycle tests to Monday given that the student needs some time to prepare  and not really the entire weekend. Some schools had experimented with Friday but it really didn't work out. Also even if the test is on a Tuesday, unfortunately that still means studying over the weekend which is the only full day available for studying and other activities including time with family.

What does it mean to not "work out" for the schools that tried Friday? Which schools were these? Is it possible to collect data on this? How many schools have Monday tests? It would help to have feedback on the experience of those who have Monday tests and those who have a late-week test.
