Dear Parents,

I may be late in the discussions, but does the PTA have regular meetings? If yes is there a schedule which is shared in advance. In the last 1 year 5 months of being a parent, I have not heard about anyone of them.

The reason I ask is that there is are elected members to the association for taking up issues with the School Management, however where is the forum for the Parents to bring up the issues and discussion amongst themselves and thereby sharing the same with the elected representatives.

Secondly, are any formal minutes circulated post discussions with the school management.

In case there are these forums and governance structures for the PTA then I am 'OK' with it, just that I am curious about it. In case, they do not exist or may not be formal in their nature, could we take a discussion on the same.

Looking forward to your views on the same.

Thanks and Regards

Possibly the only forum available is this google group. Other than this the school Parent Portal can be used to raise queries. The school does reply to the queries raised through this forum . Meetings wheter held or not only the PTA elected members will be able tell.

As a concerned parents of two kids/students, I support your proposal........Of course this is the responsibility of the elected parents representatives to bring the issues/agenda/minutes of the meetings to the concerned parents............
Both the issues are important and should be discussed.............

Dear Parents,

I am sorry for not responding earlier due to some personal problems. I assure you that whatever issues that are being raised by the parents in this forum are being taken up with the Principal and the Management in the MC meetings. PTA meets regularly and takes up issues that concern our children. I also keep on meeting the Principal and the manager on a regular basis to follow up.

Some of the things that we could get done are - We could get Psychology included for students with Biology in Class XI. The next in agenda is to discuss and convince the management to give all saturdays off for XI and XII students so that they can attend their coaching classes .

We make efforts but sometimes the result is slow to come. Sometimes parents also make their efforts individually. That is also welcome. However, I would request you all to share the concerns and your individual approach. Together we can solve many problems.

Currently on priority is the Saturday Off issue.

I have sought an appointment with Shri Anil Jauhar for discussion. I will let you know the outcome as and when something happen.

In the meanwhile let us keep this forum alive and strengthen it. Let us all approach other parents to join the group.

with my warm regards to you all

Sujit Banerjee

This (google group) is the forum by PTA for parents to consolidate their views and reach a consensus. It won't do if 2 parents are in favor of an issue and 4 against. A balanced discussion can take place here for common subjects of interest. It would add to the health of this group if more parents start writing with common issues.

Mr Banerjee,

It would be of immense help to the parents if the syllabus of the cyle tests are uploaded on the Parent portal. I have requested the school almost a month ago but there has been no response as yet.

Dear All,

This is a good demand, if syllabus is put on the website, any one can directly check it there. I also needed it initially but later I asked my daughter she showed me the syllabus. If you check it with your kid - the teacher concerned gives the syllabus in her class and ask the students to write it down. Those who do not pay attention to the class instruction only left without syllabus. If you ask your kid, the truth shall be disclosed!

Dear All;

From JULY 2013 the schoo,has started sending printed syllabus for the month on the registered email of the Parents, but only after the expiry of the month. For example, we got the syllabus of July- 2013 in the last wk of July.
It's a good move on the part of school Management & the efforts put on by PTA has yielded result & we all welcome it.
May we ask that the MONTHLY CALENDER be put on the parent portal & mail in the 1st wk itself please.

Regards;
Vikash Kumar

Actually, even that (sending it after the fact) is not being done consistently. Possibly, some teachers post conscientiously while others may be busy elsewhere.

We should also distinguish between the syllabus for the tests and syllabus to be covered in class. The first is well defined and can and should be uploaded a week before the test. The syllabus covered should ideally be uploaded at the beginning of each month but if it is late -- and even at the end of the month -- it still has value.
