NOT GETTING EXACT HL7 MESSAGE

I'm trying to get HL7 message from a biochemistry laboratory machine, Erba XL-180 to a mirth channnel but i get **???????** as a content of the message. I have set a data type HL7v2.x as inbound to my mirth channel. Help please...!

Please show screenshots of:
  • The message view
  • Your datatypes settings
  • Your source listener settings
Do you have a spec for the XL-180? Can you share it?

Some ideas:
  • This could be a character encoding issue
  • Is SSL involved?
  • If you flip your HL7 listener from MLLP to TCP do you start seeing any data? If you do this could be a start/end character sequence issue

I have set HL7v2.x as a data type for inbound, TCP Listerner as a connector, TCP as Transmission mode, the encoding type is UTF-8.

but when i change transmission mode from TCP to MLLP, not message reaches a mirth channel
