Have you removed or are deprecating the playlist functionality?  I don't see it anymore on the view_video template page.  This is one of the features I thought was being extended, not removed, so I'm surprised to see it missing on the default template.

Also, I remember a while ago hearing that 'author comments' was being removed, if so, that's another feature I'll need to add back.

The plan is to extend playlists, but it will require a more general overhaul of the playlist system - and it's not quite clear how that will play into the video view page. In the meantime, the playlist functionality has been removed from the video view page.

We're actually moving in the direction of removing comments from Miro Community altogether, because it's generally more effective (in terms of generating activity) to use disqus or facebook comments. Why do you feel like you need author comments?

Hi Stephen, the functionality we need from a playlist is more of a bookmarking (watch later) service rather than a continuous stream of content, although the more users can personalise the content the better.

Author comments and inline editing were two important functions we used extensively.  Author comments to provide a (blog like) editorial annotation for selected videos such as behind-the-scenes stories about how the video was made, plus images and further insights.  We also relied upon inline editing to amend the metadata of automatically approved videos, where otherwise it would be too onerous to search through 60,000 videos in site admin.

We’ve never used the built-in comments in MC, using Disqus as we do on our other sites.  Author comments enable moderators and editors to build stories into each video.

Hi, Steve,

The problem with author comments was that it used Django's built-in commenting interface. It would be great to have a replacement feature that addresses the use case you're describing in a more targeted fashion.
