Can Mireka modify the contents of an outgoing email message and then submit it to the SMTP server?

I am trying to understand if Mireka could be useful for my needs. Can it intercept and modify the contents of an outgoing email message and then submit the modified version to the SMTP server? 

There is another software that does this, i.e. GNU Anubis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Anubis).

Can Mireka act in the same way as GNU Anubis, i.e. as a proxy server?
