Hi Sagar..... i guess 2 yrs is bit long...we shouldn't take action on players who are not at fault. Also i heard only 1 person acted against  CLNJ and not a single player was part of it.  Yes we might have agreed in the BOD's but we haven't enforced the Law till recently. It is unfair on the 33 players, are we not denying their basic rights?? They are disappointed hearing the Ban at the start of the season. I request EC to look into matter, also if you need a undertaking from a Team or players we are ready to do that. Let us know..also Sapan mentioned that he will go over the issue and get back to us.

Thanks
Princeton CC

Rajesh,

Since I have some background about this issue, I will try to clarify to few things which you are raising in following email.

1) No such rule existed when Gymkhana CC had taken legal action against CLNJ. A year later CLNJ BODs approved such a rule on a going forward basis to protect the league and its BODs from any legal actions. So there was never a question of banning any Gymkhana players, as they did not sue CLNJ after the rule was in place.

2) CLNJ EC has been working with MCL EC until middle of 2017 to get the resolution on ground enchroachment agreement. Part of such negotiations CLNJ + MCL BODs meeting was arranged on 17th Apr 2017 - which didn't end up resolving the issue. MCL EC was willing to honor the agreement only if it was altered from the original agreement which was in place. That deadlock about the agreement was never resolved during 1st half of 2017. CLNJ EC could not implement the rule last year once season was started as CLNJ EC was still hoping the get MCL EC on-board with the agreement between to leagues.

3) CLNJ EC assures you that, this is not at all related with the issue(Release of Abhishek Malhotra) going on between Princeton CC and Knights CC. CLNJ EC is just trying to enforce the long lasting By-Law which was passed by BODs to protect the league from the any legal action taken by players/clubs. Resolution to release of Abhishek Malhotra would not have any bearing on enforcing this rule. To prove my point Princeton CC will not be the only club which has players in this list.

With that being said CLNJ EC is committed to protect CLNJ and its BODs. Please feel free to contact EC members if you have any questions.

Regards,

Sagar

Hi Sapan,
First of all would like to thank you for considering our request for letting the listed players play the Game yesterday. We need some Clarification reg the banning of players from CLNJ,

This particular case...to  my knowledge was resolved between the Concerned Team, MCL and CLNJ in August 2016. We have couple of players from the Listed members, one of the players has been playing for PCC from last 6 to 7 yrs. After the case or during the dispute  all players were allowed to play the Games in CLNJ. Throughout 2017 and some part of 2016 the below the Listed players were allowed to play for CLNJ. If you have agreed on some Rules why it was not implemented after the case?? why after 2 yrs???

The timing is really surprizing that after couple of years... on the 1st Match of 2018 during the Game day in the morning this below banning of players were sent. If there was a issue why it took 2 long years to ban these players??

Is it something to do with our ongoing issue with CLNJ???

Can you please clarify, why there was no ban on Gymkhana and Gymkhana CC players   the case was also in the court and both the Teams were involved and CLNJ was dragged in that case.  Both these Clubs i am sorry to bring this issue ( i am using this as a reference and not intentionally ).

There are 34 players who you have been banned.....is it fair to ban players without any fault, only 1 player has acted against CLNJ and we support you to take action on that player and not all the 33 innocent players who play cricket on Sunday for different teams, most of the players banned are in 20s ...what kind of message is CLNJ giving?? some of these players don't even have any idea abt this issue and some were in India, they have no knowledege of what the dispute was..they only played cricket and didn't get involved in anything.

For one players action you are robbing 33 players passion of playing cricket.... very SAD.

In a recent issue you were supporting a player and accused us for holding him in our Team....you showed all your sympathy to the player who encroached our field and still you have supported him and gave Special Permission to play..  What abt these 33 young players????? what is their fault????.

This is not fair and we feel you should look into this matter and do do the needful. Please get back to us.

BOD's please look into this and let us know if this is Fair...Thank You.

All,

After several deliberations over the issue of lawsuit filed against CLNJ, EC has come to a conclusion with following verdict which will go into effect starting 3rd June

CLNJ could not enforce penalties in 2016 due to pending court matter until the court case was withdrawn by Avengers CC at the end of 2016 season. Later in 2017, CLNJ attempted to work with MCL by requesting them to abide by the ground encroachment agreement between the leagues. Both leagues held "All hands meet" between BODs from both leagues to come to a resolution. But all those attempts were not successful.

We have approved By-Laws of the league and we cannot simply ignore them. Enforcing these rules will ensure long term integrity of CLNJ. In next year's AGM, BODs can revisit this rule and propose amendments to the penalties. Any further discussion on this matter will be taken up during next year's AGM.
 1) Office Bearers of Avengers CC (year 2016) are banned until the current rule is in effect.
Venkateshwar Rao Gundlapally - President
Sheldon Bhurasingh - Captain

2) The rest of the players(except under the age of 18 players during 2016) who played for Avengers CC in 2016 will serve 5 games ban starting this Sunday June 3rd. All under 18 players on the roster are excluded from this ban.

3) If banned players end up playing a game during the ban period then that team will automatically lose that game and points will be awarded to the opposition team.

And we sincerely hope, that such incidents simply do not arise again and everyone plays in a friendly spirit and in favor of league. Respect the league, respect he community and one shall not act against the league's rules for individual benefits. This is your league, be part of it, play in it and protect its interests at any cost. It is everyone's responsibility.

List of Players which are banned for 5 games: (if any of these were minors in 2016, provide us the proof for exemption):
Aditya Kovela

Ajitesh Bhadauriya
Akashdeep Chunnapuwar
Aniket Deshpande
Anil Mogha

Vishal Jogi

Yours Sincerely,

CLNJ EC

Rajesh,

Appreciate the concerns, even though certain words were not needed. But I am not going to focus on it right now. We will talk about it in next AGM, while you can self reflect on how you could have possibly condensed all of this in a better way.

For your core issue, let me work with rest of EC and deep dive more on possible better outcome if possible. But again, as I am settling down in this role, still learning about past situations. Give me some time.
