Support for EloTouch digitizer

Has anyone had any experience with EloTouch monitors?

I am using a Android SBC from another company and it does not recognize the EloTouch digitizer, so I am moving on to another SBC.  I really like the idea behind this Ci20!

We have an EloTouch 2294L (#660320) that employs TouchPro PCAP technology.  I spoke with EloTouch technical support and they swear this model should work with Android out-of-the-box.  

I have also read that the Linux kernel supports HID, so it should support this digitizer.

I did purchase a CI20 card. 

I started with Lollipop, the digitizer was not recognized
then tried Kit Kat, the digitizer was not recognized

I tried Nougat 7.1.1 and the digitizer is recognized!

I am not sure if it is Nougat itself, the 3.1.8 kernel or if the author of the .img  file added support for this digitizer.
