As best I can tell, the camera connector is listed as: ITU-R BT.645. The recommended camera is the OMNIVISION OV5640. Modules for this
camera are available from http://www.e-consystems.com/webstore.asp#MIPI_70mm, but when I contacted them, they said there connectors would
not work without adding an adapter pcb. Has anyone had any success in finding "plug-in" camera's/camera modules? Also, does anyone know if the installed Debian-7 comes with drivers (libvl-4.0?)
installed? Anyone else working on getting the camera going? Possibly collaborating?

Hi Ken,

Welcome to the CI20 forum.

I have added a photo of the back of the camera I have for reference.

http://www.elinux.org/CI20_Hardware#Camera

Hope it helps.

I don't have an exact part number or link to buy it from. Will try and check it out after the weekend.

Cheers,
ZubairLK
There is a camera app in the demos folder on the desktop that should display images if the right camera is connected.

Hi Ken,
I can confirm that I have a OV5640 camera working with the board. There is some minor lag in the video at times, but it worked straight out of the box!
I bought the camera off AliExpress:
Thanks,
William

I have this camera working in linux on ci20 but have not been successful in getting it to work on android. I am trying to use the android sample code for camera but my app immediately fails with "Unfortunately, Camera1 has stopped" Has anyone had any success with the camera on ci20 with android ?

Hello,
I have a question about camera OV5640 on ci20 board: does it work well on debian 8? How do you take a photo/video with it? If others persons with this camera can confirm that it works, that would be nice :)
I prefer to ask these questions before buying.
Thank you,
Nuliel
