TITLE: Coalition Manager
LOCATION: Remote, with possibility of some limited in-person work
Detroit Disability Power (DDP) seeks a contractor to serve as the Coalition Manager for the Disability Justice Alliance (DJA). The primary responsibility of this role is to work with the organizational partners of the DJA to drive coalition initiatives forward, facilitate strategic decision-making, and ensure accountability in advancing the coalition's collective goals and campaigns.
ABOUT DISABILITY JUSTICE ALLIANCE:
The Disability Justice Alliance (DJA) is a coalition of 12 organizations seeking to strengthen the Disability Justice Movement in Michigan. Our mission is to work with organizations to develop campaigns that will improve the lives of people with disabilities affected by discrimination in Michigan, with a particular focus on those who are discriminated against for more than one reason.
SCOPE OF WORK OVERVIEW:
The Coalition Manager will work closely with member organizations of the DJA to support and drive the planning, implementation, and evaluation of coalition activities that foster long-term involvement of community leaders, advocacy organizations, and government officials invested in disability justice.
The contractor will focus on the following key areas:
Leading the coalition in campaign development and ensuring progress toward goals, including mobilizing member organizations to advance the collective work of the DJA;
Data collection and analysis for reporting and strategic planning purposes; and
Administrative tasks related to convening monthly DJA meetings and committee meetings
