Cheer, group,

just notice the nice mintty after last update of cygwin. I am trying to miragrate from cygwin.xterm to mintty.

But I still like the font of : fixed-medium

'xterm -g 80x40 -fn "-*-fixed-medium-*-*-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" -fg white -bg black'

Right click on mitty, I cannot find the choice(yes fixedsys is there, but could not distinguish foldername in bold font and normal filename in regular font.)

So could anyone help me to enable that? thanks in advance!

Mintty can only use Windows fonts, I'm afraid. Regarding bold, have
you seen the "Show bold as font" and "Show bold as colour" options?

Hi Andy

thanks for your nice creation of mintty, really like it.

yes I have tried ""Show bold as colour" options"but all the directories & filename are to be bold font. not like the old way using *fixed-medium* , only the directory names are in bold font.

I really appreciate to use the font of "*fixed-medium* ", because it is thin and clear. hope you could make it happen, so that the mintty would be fully overwhelm cygwin.xterm.

thanks!

You're welcome!

Have you tried "Show bold as font" as well (which maybe should have
been called "Show bold as thick" or something).

I'm afraid I don't understand what you're asking for here. Whether
fonts and directories are printed with the bold attribute isn't up to
mintty, but whatever command is showing them.

As far as the graphical user interface and text rendering are
concerned, mintty is intrinsically a Windows program, and so is not
going to support X fonts. Therefore your best bet is finding a Windows
version of your font.
