One common single reference or sequential network of interferograms?

Based on my reading of forum posts and papers, am I correct that MintPy only works with an interferogram network with one common single reference?

My interferogram network is a sequential network with 3 connections to each acquisition (ab, ac, ad, bc, bd, be, ...). I'm using Sentinel-1 data, and coherence is a major problem with any connections longer than this.
