பெரும்பாலும், இவை கஷ்டப்பட்டு, செயற்கயாக உருவக்கப்பட்டவை. இலக்கிய சுவையோ, பொருள் விளக்க ஏற்புடைய வகையானவை அல்ல. ஆக்ஸிமோரான், முரண் அணி அல்ல. அது முரணை அணியாக்கொண்ட அலங்காரம். 

"வெய்ய குரல் தோன்றி வெஞ்சினவே றுட்கொளினும்

  பெய்யு முகில் தன்னை பேணுவரால்..." என்பது தண்டியலங்காரத்தில் 'முரணித்தோன்றல்' அல்லது முரண் பிறப்பொருள் வைப்பு' ['விரோதி' வடமொழியில்] என்ற அணியின் விளக்கச்சான்று. 

பொருள்: கொடுமையுடைய இடியை தன்னுள் கொண்டிருப்பினும், முகிலை அனைவரும் புகழ்வர். ஏன்? மழை தருதலின்.

தமிழிலும், வடமொழியிலும் உள்ள அணிகளுக்கு ஆங்கிலம் ஈடு கொடுக்க இயலாதது என்பது மிகையல்ல, அணி வகைப்படுத்தும் ஆற்றலில். விபரீத அணி கூட உண்டு.
