Since it is 900 crore Project the quality of execution should be ensured. Locals should be given more awareness and opportunities. Fears and myths should be addressed by an expert team. Though it involves fundamental science understanding the applications are only speculated. Who is the real sponsor of this project? Is there any hidden agenda. Even educated  and scientific communities are not satisfied with the appraisals. A  joint effort by a group of Scientists in Tamilnadu is to be initiated. The Largest teachers organization like MUTA and Scientific workers association SWA are to be involved to determine and disseminate the truth. When it comes to money values go down is what common people so far experienced. Ignorence should not be cashed is the only purpose of agitation.

INO or India-based Neutrino Observatory project is a 100 percent Indian
Project. Apart from TIFR, many other institutions such as our
instititution (IMSc), IIT's and Universities are involved in it.

It is a front-line basic science project for which Central Govt sanctioned
1500 crore five years ago.

It is stuck now because a handful of so-called environmentalists and
politicos have raised a scare about radiation and other other misfortunes
that will result from the project. None of these allegations is true as
explained to them so many times.

The project will provide a major opportunity for our students, young
scientists and engineers to participate in a world-class experiment
and make important discoveries. These "environmentalists" and politicos
are standing in the way of the advancement of young scientists, engineers
and students, especially of Tamil Nadu. They must be made to realize their
folly soon.

both in English and Tamil.
