In response to the request from Gopi I give below
a list of Tamil writers whose work has been placed
in public domain through special arrangements of
TN Govt with the concerned parties or their legal
heirs.

Tamilnadu Govt has indicated plans to include several other
authors to this list. Above list includes only those where
the arrangements I gather are definitive. One needs to check
TN Govt GO database. In response to my request, few years
back Mr.Gandhi Kannadhasan provided me with photocopies
of TNGovt. GOs covering most of the authors listed above.
I have posted this list earlier in this yahoo list several
times, to encourage Promads to take up the works of authors
of their personal interest. In Project Madurai, we covered
the works of only handful of authors.
Without a major initiative on the part of TN Govt, it will
be decades before we can hope to have e-version of the works
of these authors on the Net. So we do have a looong loong
way to go ;-)
