Thomas,
The WADO Restful Services is being working by DICOM WG-27 and is being
presented to WG-06 in Berlin next week. There is a draft supplement
available for review, the number has not yet been assigned but will be
next week. You can find the current draft in the wg27 folder for the
06-06-2012 meeting held at the SIIM Conference this week. If you don't
have access to the DICOM WG folders, let me know and I will send you a
draft copy.
There is another work item being developed by DICOM WG-27 called STOW
(Store Objects Over the Web). It will provide both Web and Restful
Services for storing and appending. This is in power point form and
not yet started as a supplement.
A team has been put together to develop MINT2.0 over the summer. There
is a Medical Imaging and Management Information (MIAMI) Project
started under OpenHealthTools.org and MINT2.0 is a sub project under
MIAMI. It is currently not open to the public until it reaches
critical mass, most likely by September.
MINT2.0 is essentially an API a reference implementation of WADO RS +
STOW RS. I expect WADO-RS to be adopted in the DICOM 2013 standard.
Hopefully STOW will make it as well since it only adds two additional
operations. MINT2.0 will have a few extended APIs to support
versioning, attachments, QC functions that will be addressed in WG-27
in the future.
The searching capability is supposed to be worked under the QIDO Work
Item. This work item has not been worked in over a year, but there are
people available now from Vital and AGFA to start defining Web and
Restful search capabilities.
