Thisis my first contribution to the xp11 community. This simple lua scripts modifies some datarefs and changes the way x plane 11 renders. This will impact visuals ONLY SLIGHTLY but will give ALOT of fps boost. This script is ideal for streamers, people using low to medium end pcs. YOU NEED FLYWITHLUA
I can't tell you how much this has made my day. My PC used to manage around 27 FPS for the default planes, but as I moved on to buying payware aircraft with better 3D cockpits and advanced systems, my PC could only manage around 18 FPS. This has restored my FPS to its former glory, even with advanced aircraft like the Flight Factor 757! Thank you so much!
Idea: great. FPS performance at first, also great, but after a minute, the script also stopped LUA. Although reloading LUA scripts again also brings back the FPS boost, I changed to "XPFps" script, because I had less problems with that. I'm using latest XP11 on Mac. I think this script has to be updated, but likely won't as the last update was 2019...
Highly recommend, doubled the speed of my sim, the only thing I would recommend to change is delete the script that says something about glare so that you will still get a sun but other than that I would recommend downloading it. ?
Great little script, gaining about10fps. Have a slight problem with cloud textures cutting off sharply but I have just added ORBX GB South, maybe some conflict? Overall, prefer the fps increase so happy. Thanks.
working amazing..... with zibo in complex airports i used to get 22-25 fps and now its 30-32 fps. with toliss it gives 50-55 fps. good work. thank you. may u enjoy this life with all the beautiful burgers of the world :3
Yes.... better FPS - but not only a slight visiual impact..... it seems, that the draw distance for buildings changed to 2 Miles.... maybe, becaus i use xeurope5, no idea, but in this way a little too much visual impact
Pretty cool, my fps went from 20 to 70. Then, for the ones that have the ''lua stopped'' problem, it happens because 2 or more scripts don't work togheter. In my case it was the LUA script for water enhancement 1.3; So if you have that, try to remove it by the scripts folder and see if it works.
This works slightly for me but my graphics and ram wont yield as I'm using a mac. All other frame rate plug in managers wont even allow xplane to start lol. So I give up. I'm stuck with the below 10fps no mattter what it seems?
AMAZING great work i went from 24 fps to 40 and when i was at 30000 feet i would on get 19 now im getting 32! Only slight thing is i would like it if you updated the script for the draw distance just a little so i can see the airport buildings before short final apart from that minor issue THANK YOU SO MUCH For the script of code 100 percent recommend even for people with fairly good pcs just to get that added fps but best for low end pcs for the massive fps increase Thanks again Also re editing this can anyone tell me how to get back the water textures that is the only thing that bothers me
I cannot thank the author of this script enough... they are probably magic though. This is the most game-changing script that I have ever used. At certain custom airports, I am getting 2.5x my old FPS, and I cannot notice any significant visual difference. Running an iMac usually means low settings, but not anymore.
Hello! My name is Lucas and just like you, some time ago I was looking for a way to boost my x plane FPS. I was frustrated cause I had a 2012 Mac and I wanted to enjoy flying without low frame rates.I learned about the xplane environment and came up with this .lua script that should give you from 5 up to 40 additional FPS. This is an X plane 11 script which uses FlyWithLua NG and sadly I don't think it's supported with FlyWithLua 2.4 for X-Plane 10.
The way it works is that it draws distance from the game objects. What this means is, that without this script, you will probably have unnecessary FPS losses during the game since there are lots of objects loaded into the game. On high altitudes, FPS will be better since these objects won't be displayed too much. I hope you enjoyed this script, and I hope it gives you way better performance than before. Feel free to give me some feedback as I improve this script to get you better performance on low to medium end pcs
XPFps.lua: Giving you a decent FPS boost with a special object draw that avoids it taking unnecessary amounts of FPS for a better game experience. It is also recommended for those of you who want an FPS booster that doesn't take away your beautiful scenery.
XPextrafps.lua: Giving you an extra boost in FPS while making some slight changes to the scenery and environment. This is recommended for those of you who dont mind much about water reflections and scenery, but to gain more FPS.
XPFpswithlessdraw.lua: Giving you an FPS Boost with less draw to improve the look of your scenery while giving the same FPS boost. I myself saw no difference in FPS but a good scenery improvement. This is highly recommended for those of you who have an FPS average above 25. However if you have a low end pc this is not recommended since it might have some unpleasant results/effects on the gameplay.
I've just decided that I'm going to move to XP for my simming. However, I need to invest in a new pc for it. From your experiences, what is a decent (but cheap) set of specs for running xp with decent graphics and scenery?
Hello Bill 1 terrabite is what i have for XP11. I don't know how many pounds it will cost you.Faster the better because everything advancing forward, you need the muscle.Specs. are online for Xplane. Welcome to the X Plane family mate!!!!!
There are so many variables. These videos and others on the same channel will give you lots of info and real test results for different CPU / GPU combos on Xplane 11. They will help you get the best bang for your buck.
The Rock Paper Shotgun gaming site had an article from October so it's fairly recent, titled "Best graphics card 2019: Top AMD and Nvidia GPUs for 1080p, 1440p and 4K." I upgraded my video card recently from a GTX 970 and found that useful in making a decision. Of course you can also get feedback here on Avsim in the monitor/GPU sub-forum, but that article condenses the current state of the art fairly well, I think.
I use a 1920x1200 moniitor, so I decided on a GTX 1660 ti GPU. I had wanted an RTX 2070 Super, but money is tight this time of year, so a sub-$300 card made more sense for now. As it turned out, the 1660 ti is a significant boost for XP11 and general gaming at this resolution over my older card, so I'm happy. I bought the MSI ventus OC version with two fans, it's very quiet for the type.
You'll be okay with 16 GB if you don't use the free UHD terrain mesh which needs a hefty amount of RAM, but it's nice to have overhead so you can run other software alongside XP11 and don't get into a RAM crunch. X-Plane and other flight sims are going to continue ramping up the amount of RAM used in future versions, and additional RAM doesn't add that much to the cost of a new computer build. Plenty of RAM makes for a very stable system.
Is this an issue with FSX or do i have something set wrong? I know about the DX10 fix (that you have to pay for, which is stupid) but is there anything else I can do to boost my FPS for free...or should I just get a more modern sim like XP11 or P3D?
FSX is not like other typical games. There is a tremendous amount of computation going on to calculate aircraft speed, position, attitude and more, plus all AI traffic, boat and car traffic and MUCH more, plus loading and displaying a world of scenery (not pre-computed), AND the CPU also handles the bulk of the display calculations, with only small help from the GPU.
It's less that FSX is not like other games because it's a sim, and far more to do with it being designed around single core processors running at speeds that still haven't materialized (once upon a time Intel was talking about 5-10 GHz CPUs). Other games, such as Crysis, that were released at the same time had the same issue when the CPU world made a hard right turn towards multiple cores. Having said that, 50 FPS is pretty good for FSX. P3D should do better, though probably not by a significant margin.
You may want to try these settings. I do not know what version you have, I have the Gold version running in 4K and I get anywhere between 80-200, in Unlimited, depending on the Settings, location, configuration view... This system is I7 8700 @4.6 16GB, GTX1070
