Onething I've been a bit curious about for both the Bioshock and Borderlands Collections - are the physical and digital collections essentially bundles that just give you each individual game (with their own home screen icons), or are they a true collection with all the games together in one file?
But XCOM 2 at 32gb might be the biggest. Especially if it gets any updates. Witcher 3 is right around 32gb too after the 3gb patch. And Mortal Kombat XI Aftermath may take a shot at the crown. It was over 25gb just for the base game. Who knows how big that single player expansion will be. Final Fantasy X/X-2 is like 29GB.
@JaxonH ?There's three games on the Bioshock Collection, now? ? When did this happen? haha I'm just messing with ya. I wasn't clear above, but I was talking about the Bioshock collection. Eshop says 46 GB of space is needed. After downloading it, combined they are 43.6 GB, but I haven't started them. I'm guessing creating save files will add to the file sizes.
Actually, the The BioShock collection eshop page has a typo. File size says 12.5 GB, but that's the size of BioShock 1 Remastered. Down in the fine print where nobody looks, it says 46 GB of space is needed.
@jaxonH @jump Wow, embargo for BioShock(switch) reviews still hasn't lifted. That makes me nervous about BioShock performance on the Switch, which I already bought on eshop. Guess I'll have to fire it up and make my own judgement.
I'll be waiting a bit before getting these, but I'm admittedly stuck on whether I want to get it physical or digital. On one hand the physical edition seems like a waste given the circumstances, but on the other....Well, I like conserving digital space as much as possible. Would it really have killed them to make the download size for the physical edition less robust? I thought a 256 GB Micro SD card, given my preference for physical over digital, would last me quite some time. If third parties keep pulling stuff like this, on the other hand....
Glad to hear performance is so awesome, this is the one game I'm struggling to hold off on due to money issues. I know it's not the favorite for most people, but the gameplay of 2 is my favorite. Mixing the plasmids and eventually feeling like a true hulking Big Daddy is so fun
@JaxonH Definitely a convincing argument to still go physical there, at least in my case. Thanks! Due to platform preference among other things, BioShock is a series that I've generally been interested in but have never had the opportunity to really play. I'm not normally one that cares for games with FPS elements (unless there are other things mixed in; I enjoyed the Metroid Prime games, for example), but the lore and setting are what will draw me in. Plus, I've read that it can technically be played in different ways.
I bought a PS3 several years ago super cheap just to play all the games I wanted to play that I never got to play as a Nintendo-only gamer, and Bioshock was one of those games. Unfortunately, the Wii U at that time and now the Switch ruined me into hating to have to use the TV to play and so the only game I successfully completed was Oblivion. I did play maybe an hour or so of Bioshock and enjoyed it, so I look forward to eventually getting this, but the Switch has also ruined me into never buying games for full price, so it will have to wait for now.
Historically, I mainly stuck to Nintendo platforms (mainly handhelds) due to franchise preference and how much cheaper handheld games were. My family didn't have a TV console until I was in high school, the humble Wii. If I had time for another platform right now, I'd pick up a PS4 just to get a chance to play all the exclusives. With the PS5 looming on the horizon however, I can stand to wait a bit longer.
Ok. I'm a baby. We'll get that part out of the way I played an hour of Bioshock 1. While it is cool, at the moment, I'm not feeling the grim/murderous/horror phsycho enemies. The horror sound design & tension is wearing on me. (I admit it's well executed). I know I'm more sensitive to this stuff than most people. Are BioShock 2 or 3 any less grim/murderous/horror? Forgive me if that seems like a ridiculous question. I realize asking this question might be like saying, are there any hershey bars that don't have chocolate?
A couple weeks ago, I posted about Canvas Wraps and how classy they were, and how often they can be found on things like Google Offers, Living Social, etc. I recently received my order, and here it is:
I decided on Bioshock because it is one of my favorite franchises, it has lots of available concept art, and I really enjoyed the setting while playing the game. The underwater utopia was a great place to start for a piece of art, and then it was as simple as finding a high-res picture, cropping it, and submitting it.
As you can see above, the canvas I got is very reflective. That is the flash from my iPhone causing that bright spot, and it blocks that whole section out. However, you can see how detailed the picture of Rapture is, and gives a good look at the colors.
I have to say I have been looking for canvases for bioshock of a long time and this is a good one. Are you planing on making more to sell? I would be very interested if the price was right and of course if you fix the problems you found out through this one. Great job man.
The install size for Bioshock: The Collection has been revealed coming at a fairly high level of space. Bioshock will come in at 16.42 GB, Bioshock 2 will come in at 16.64 GB and Bioshock Infinite will come in at 36.35 GB on the Xbox Marketplace and will be available on September 13, 2016. This package of course includes the entire package for Bioshock including all the single player DLC for the ultimate experience whether that's under the sea or high in the clouds. Venture through one of the defining series from the last generation under the sea in Rapture or above it in Columbia. It's really a solid series and I definitely suggest checking this collection out.

For the portholes you need some buttons, green for a friendly hypnotized Big Daddy, yellow for a normal one and red for a mad one. The buttons should be proportionate to the head size. This pattern makes a little crochet basket for the button to be in but if you are feeling lazy, you can just apply the buttons directly to the head. Look at a Bouncer image or go play the game before attaching as they are arranged in a specific pattern.
This was a tricky wicky one, how to give him the look of pipes without using wires? You can use wires if you want or course, copper could look groovy, but I wanted my Bouncer to be all yarn. The answer? Friendship bracelets!

Yeah, I was having some issues with the "Lock Framerate" option, as it threw me down to 30 frames anytime it dipped below 60, which sucked. I hate screen tearing, so I tried the D3DOverrider option and forced it into v-sync and triple buffering. That has been working fine for me so far, with the only issue is that I am unable to use the Steam overlay :(
I haven't done the fix outlined above yet - but one thing that helped my situation a whole lot is to turn ambient occlusion off in game and to enable it in the NVIDIA console. It still stutters a bit - but its made a significant improvement. 660 here.
Hmmmm. I changed the PoolSize in a different file and it helped a bit but would still get bad after playing for a bit. I'll give this a shot and see if it is any different. Thanks for messing around with it and sharing your results!
Are you sure that this is the same .ini change? There is a different change you van make that has been confirmed by many users to screw up certain scripted interactions. I have not encountered reports on the fix posted above causing that problem.
That's the background streaming tweak, the one in my post isn't in there. I don't think the IGN article tells you to do the command line (launch options) parameter, otherwise the game ignores the poolsize changes.
Changing pool size shouldn't affect the scripting, but if you change the backgroundstream option to false it breaks the game. (too bad it's the only thing that actually fixed the stuttering for me lol). I've tried this and it's not working, not sure what settings to use my Card is 3gb 7950? Every option i tried does nothing. I get the same frame drops whether i play on high or low settings too. I can lock my frames at 30 and it's all good, but the game looks terrible at 30 frames for some reason, like a double image thing when scrolling.
From what i've been reading now a lot of people are saying they experienced a placebo effect with this setting and once they got later in the game the stutter came back. If you have an Nvidia card alot of people are claiming that switching the AO off and forcing it through Nvidia's CP is doing the trick for them. I'm going to try and run the game locked at 40 frames (which still feels pretty smooth) and just try and deal with the slight drops to 30-35, maybe try 35 if it's still a big problem. Haven't heard any word on a patch yet?
