Hi...

After several days, I got my Minnowboard back from RMA. Unfortunately they dispatched it without the microSD card. Now it's embarrassing but I am not able to prepare the card. I follow the Windows steps, but the image writer software just hangs when I click on the Write button. It wont show any advace on the progress bar, it just does not respond, and I have to restart the PC to shut the process down (even the task manager can't close it). I am using a FAT formated, 8G SanDisk microSD, and the last Angstrom image available.

Thanks

Hi,

This is quite strange. Just a few quick questions for you:

1. Did you trying running the Image Writer software as an administrator in Windows?

2. In the Image Writer software, are you able to select the drive of your microSD card or not?

Best,
Jayneil.

Yes. I have the account control disabled too.

Yes. Actually, when I open the Writer, it has preselected the right unit (F:\\)

By the way, today I tested with another SD card, this time 4G, and the result is the same. So It doesn't seem to be size related.

Hello.

I just ran the process on a different laptop (Win7) and it worked without problem.

Chamac2,

I am glad to hear that it worked out for you. In any case I have update the page with more alternatives(Roadkil's Disk Image, dd for Windows) and also documented instructions on how to format your microSD card in Windows after you write an Angstrom image to it.

Best,
Jayneil.

FAT16 tops out at 2gb. Maybe whatever utility you were using specified
FAT16 instead of FAT32.
