Hello,

Does anyone know if you can collect data using the Minno.js extension and. be able to identify a single subject as their own paired data - in other words, can you track a single participant in a study using this platform?

Thanks

HI Julie,

Probably not, although the answer might depend on how you are using Minno.js (see the various options on this page).

The Minno.js player does not send data that can detect the participant. However, you can install the complete Minno suite on your own server, and turn on the Fingerprint feature on the server. Then, if the participant would use the same computer and browser in each session, the server will save a "fingerprint" of the participant's configuration, which would often allow you to identify the participant by their fingerprint because it tends to be unique.

Of course, you can do the pairing externally in a questionnaire. For example, ask participants for their full date of birth and their initials, or provide each of them an id that they must enter during the experiment.
