ANNOUCEMENT: SD46 Endorsing Convention, SEE BELOW!

The endorsing convention for our upcoming special election has been fast tracked as of a conference call that occurred Wednesday afternoon with state party and the 3rd CD.
The convention is scheduled for next week Tuesday, August 2nd at the Brooklyn Park City Hall Council chambers. Registration begins at 6:15PM and we convene at 7PM.
It has come to the attention of the Executive Committee that the date selected for this convention overlaps the National Night Out. We apologize for this inconvenience. The decision was made without this information available. Leadership were primarily focused on holding the convention before the date which candidates could remove their name from registration.
The candidate filing period for Senate District 46 begins today Wednesday, July 27, 2011 and ends Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at 5 p.m. Candidates may file with either the Hennepin county auditor or the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State. The candidate withdrawal period for both Senate District ends at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011.
The state party has issued the Convention Calls as of yesterday July 27th, which falls under the CD3 rules which allow for a convention to be called for endorsement with a five day notice. You may receive your calls as early as today.
PLEASE make a point of reinforcing the need for a good delegate turnout at next Tuesdays convention with friends and neighbors. We expect a good dialog and discussion amongst candidates. We believe for a unified, focused and prepared delegation at the outcome of next week’s convention. We ALL need to work together for the endorsed candidate to best insure that we endorse the next Minnesota Senate District 46 senator!
