Subject: NEW ACL Virtual Classroom Sessions
ACL Launches Virtual Classroom Training in North America - www.acl.com/virtual_classroom
Dear User Groups,
I invite you to attend the first session of our new Virtual Classroom training on either Tuesday April 6 or Thursday April 8.
These new 90 minute online sessions will teach you how to solve common audit and analysis problems from the comfort of your own office. Each session focuses on a common audit problem with solution techniques that can be applied by any user with basic experience using ACL Desktop/Network. You will walk away with step-by-step procedures to solve each problem, a practice data file to help hone your skills, and the know-how to immediately apply these techniques in your own organization – all without leaving your desk!
Our first session in a series - Working Effectively with Address Data – focuses on the challenge and complexity inherent within addresses. If you have struggled to work with address fields effectively, if you’ve wondered if there are more efficient ways to deal with these complexities, or if you worry that you may have missed important findings by not effectively dealing with these nuances in the past, this session is for you.
Upon completion, you will be able to download an ACL Project containing relevant data files, including an answer key, so you can practice when it’s most convenient and improve your ACL skills.
The course outline is attached for your convenience.

What You Will Learn:
FAQs
What is a
Virtual Classroom?
Think of the Virtual Classroom as an online version of our
traditional instructor-led training courses but in increments of 90-minute
sessions. These focused sessions, delivered LIVE on the web by
an ACL Certified Trainer, will teach participants through an interactive
delivery method, and will qualify for CPE credits. The primary difference between
this Virtual Classroom and our Open Enrollment courses is that Virtual
Classroom sessions will be ‘just in time” online training or
“training without the flight and associated costs.”
Is this
really any different from a Webinar?
Absolutely. Participants of Virtual Classroom
sessions will get the benefit of our traditional instructor-led-training
instruction and coaching and will be able to walk away with the ability to
perform very specific types of analysis in ACL immediately after the session. Additionally, they will
have the ability to download an ACL project containing relevant data files,
including an answer key so you can practice when it's most convenient and
improve their ACL skills.
What is
the first session?
The first session is entitled “Working Effectively with
Address Data”, and deals with overcoming the challenges inherent with address
field comparisons (since there can be multiple ways to enter the same address).
These challenges affect the ability of many customers to effectively detect
duplicate entries in vendor, customer, and employee master files, find
employees in the vendor master, and other very useful analyses. The
session walks through a handful of very specific techniques for making analysis
using address fields easier and more accurate.
What is
the cost?
The regular cost is $135 USD, paid by credit card.
Premium Supported customers will receive a 10% discount reflected in the
invoice.
Will there be other Virtual Classroom offerings?
Certainly. We plan to develop a much larger library of Virtual Classroom
sessions. We already have several other sessions in development, which will
make up a larger series on the topic of 'detecting fraud in the purchase-to-pay
cycle'.
